Hi Deb/Steve your account has been extremely helpful, thank you so much for taking the time to write that for us. I will be sending my husband to look at your post. A couple of questions. What is the cover sheet you mention with the I-864? Also, is the supporting documentation his tax history? How long did it take before it showed as paid in the online portal after the payment is made? The cover sheet is printed from the NVC payment portal. Here is the link, once you have your NVC case # you will be able to start logging in.

https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx

Takes about 3 business days for it show as paid. Supporting docs will be his tax transcripts for 3 most recent years, most recent pay slips (aim for 3 months), letter from his employer. If he rings the IRS he can have the transcripts faxed to him.

When I submit the DS3032 is that to the Sydney Consulate? Or sent stateside? DS-3032 will be emailed to the NVC by you. The instructions and email address will be attached to the email they will send. Takes about a week for this to be accepted. Once this is accepted by NVC, your IV bill will become available to be paid. Same deal, about 3 days for it to be showed as paid. Again, you print the barcoded cover sheet to send with your DS-230 package.

When I submit the DS-230 what original documents are requested? I was thinking it was the whole shebang including a police certificate, is this not the case? I'd really like to have everything organised to that I can send it to them same day, but I don't want to get a police certificate if I don't need one. :) Is the DS-230 etc. submitted to the Sydney consulate, or does it go to the US? Original docs are your Birth Cert, PCC, Marriage Cert, Divorce Decree (if you've been previously married), evidence of any name changes (such as a marriage cert if you've been married before), copy of your passport bio page, Naturalisation Cert (if you weren't born in Australia but have an Aus passport), 2 x US sized passport photos (NVC case #, name and DOB written on back) plus a copy of each of the original docs. Write your NVC case # in top right hand corner of all your docs (I used pencil so I could erase it). Don't forget the barcoded cover sheet from the payment portal. I will check my packet to be sure and let you know but that is what I sent from memory.

Trying not to pull my hair out too much over this process :) Serenity Now! ;)

Cheers,

T&J

she got the packet 4 today

her interview is august 3rd

here's the thing..

she sent her sealed medical records and police check with all the forms already

but

the checklist says(all checked):

1 PASSPORT: A passport must have at least 8 months validity beyond the issuance date of the visa.

1 AUSTRALIAN POLICE CERTIFICATE: The certificate must be issued on the basis of a fingerprint check.

1 MEDICAL RECORDS: Please ensure that the panel physician provides you with a copy of Form DS-3025 vaccination documentation worksheet as part of your medical.

1 MRV FEE: This fee can be paid at any Australia Post outlet. Ensure you bring the original receipt for this payment with you to the interview. This fee is payable in Australian Dollars. 1 USD$140.00

1 EXPRESS POST 3KG ENVELOPE: Please be sure the envelope contains your name and the address where you would like us to mail the visa.

1 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Unless otherwise stated, we require the original and one photocopy of all documents

..I don't understand

should I email them? is there a number I can call?

what's the deal?

Hi Painter..

We did not forward those document to Sydney, you are required to bring them with you when you attend the interview, however my Police check was sent directly to the embassy by the Queensland Police Department. Make sure you keep your Passport with you until you arrive at the embassy, take a number [just like in coles lol] then present it to the consulate member, who will go through the final check list with you, take your finger prints, they have checklist they go through when you first get called up to the window at the embassy then your file will be given to an interviewer and you are asked to be seated and wait until called again. I was lucky my American Fiance had flown down to Australia for six months to help me down size my stuff, hold garage sales and sell my house once visa was approved so he was with me at the interview, we were just asked how we met, how many times had i visited him in the USA and vice versa they looked at my Optus Telephone bill where i had highlighted calls to Leonard [i sent 8 phone bills in showing calls over a 2 year period] he said Optus mustve loved me lol all together my interview lasted about 15 minutes then i was told my K-1 was approved the staff we dealt with where friendly and courteous and our interviewer was a lovely young man who had a good sense of humour, i wish you well with it all, and try not to stress i know i did, but overall my embassy experience was a good one and not worth all the stress i had put myself through..

Cheers Kaye

Interesting... my blood test was done at Sullivan Nicolaides (where the xray is done at QScan)... its like a one stop shop in there now... I can't say I've ever had a bruise from a blood test before though...

I had Dr Taylor who was lovely, he did not do the blood work, it was done by the Path Lab Sullivan Nicolaides, which is in the same office as where i was sent for the chest x-ray, the gal was great and no bruise for me either.

Although i did have to pee in a lil jar before the interview, had i known i wouldnt have drunk a bottle of red wine the night before lmao.. Dr Taylor and I had a great rapor, he actually went to medical school with my Doctor, it was a very thorough medical exam, i paid the staff at receiption extra to have my medical report express pack posted to me at least that way it had a tracking number

Good Luck with your journey, I am Stateside since June 9th and getting final preparations underway for our wedding July 31st. ordering the wedding cake today!

thanks for the info

but what I'm worried about is she already SENT her medical and police report to the consulate with her other forms.

then we got the packet 4 in email and it had the medical and police report checked as to things to bring.

I emailed them about it and have gotten no response.

I'm wondering if they'll just have it there(it was sent in the same package as everything else) and I should just not worry about it.

I don't know if it's of any assistance Painter, but I know I sent everything they asked for on the document checklist and they requested another DS-230 in my P4. I doubt that they don't have your fiancee's medical and police report. It can take a couple of days to get a response but they are very helpful and friendly when they do get back to you.. I'd be waiting to hear what they have to say.

got an email response from them

they don't have a record of receiving her medical report :o

I guess all we can do now is contact the doctor and request another one

that is WEIRD that they don't have it!

she also has to get another police report. apparently she did the one without the fingerprint check :(

but hey, everything else is in order! hehe

oh man, apparently I need HELP with the medical stuff!

okay, she(my fiancee) said she got an immunization booklet and a receipt for all the medical tests taken. she said that's all she got.

she sent those two things(along with all the paperwork from packet 3)

she picked up her x-rays(which she didn't send.)

sydney says they didn't receive her medical results...but they received everything else.

she sent those things from her medical in a package WITH everything else.

so I guess she needs to get her medical stuff again.

they said something about a form ds-3025 from her medical? do the doctors give you that?

thank you for ANY information you can give me.

I'm kind of tweaking here...since she did the wrong police report, the fingerprint check will take about 15 business days(they say) and our interview is in about 15 business days!

so I'm going to have to work something out there.

what EXACTLY from the medical does she need to send/take to sydney for her interview?

thank you for any information!

Thanks for your help Deb+Steve. I'm slowly getting my head around all this. I think it's most frustrating as I kept underestimating how long the process would take. I guess we forgot how grueling it was last time... The K-1 seemed like a much easier process... but I guess that might be my forgetfulness acting up :)

No worries, just remember everything goes to the NVC. They forward it to the Consulate. The only thing you take with you to the interview (besides your evidence, of course) is your medical. No need to take the X-ray. If you're organised you can be done with NVC in about a month. Best of luck ... :star:

Her medical was done by a US panel physician? Results take about a week, they ring you pick up your packet, it contains the DS-3025 with the pathology reports and the X-ray results. I know the panel physician in Brisbane used my yellow book for my vaccinations to list on the medical report.

A question for those of you who have been through the interview in Sydney: My interview is the 27th of this month, 8am - what time can I safely book my flight back home? (Going up to Sydney is not a problem, I plan to fly the night before).

Hi Deb+Steve thanks! How did you send everything to NVC? Express international sachel?

CareBear - Our NOA1 date is April 2nd and still no word. I guess we have to keep on being patient :(

EandR - Why leave it to chance? Wouldn't you prefer to have your flight in the afternoon/evening and not have to worry. The interview is nervewracking enough without worrying about missing your flight!!! :) I mean, I would put money on you being finished by midday, but you never know, and why worry? If it were me, I'd book the flight for 6pm or later. :)

I sent mine by International Express Courier - tracked and signature. It was like a cardboard envelope thing...

I agree about the flights too, i'm arriving the day before my interview, and my flight out is booked for about 5pm on the day of my interview (interview is at 9am)... I have an excuse to stay for lunch though coz I'm catching up with a friend I haven't seen for ages... haha!
