I was in NSW & went to Dr Millar in Sydney for my medical. I rang & spoke to his receptionist who is extremely helpful...I didn't need my NVC number to book my medical. I had mine done ahead of the NOA2 but not by much. They recommend you waiting until as close to the guesstimate on the NOA2 being done as the medical is good for 12 months.

The bonus of going to Dr Millar is everything is all in the one building, so you don't have to run all over town.

Best of luck with it all...

Here's to hoping! Seems like I'm hoping for a lot lately! (Still waiting to hear if I'll have to reapply due to lack of evidence with petition..)

Going out to visit him in a little bit, too. So excited!

How is everyone else doing?? :)

We filed in December last year....it will be 12 months on the 3rd

In regards to lack of evidence, they may very well RFE it and you can submit the missing components that way...keep a positive attitude and it will go smoothly.

Also as little tip for your fiance .... get him involved on this site as well...because Vanessa & I know from experience that the support he will get from here will be priceless. There is a huge transition ahead and it is something that I know I would not have handled as well without the friends I made here....especially Vanessa xxx

Oh Terri so sorry to hear of your bad luck, but at least you can apply for a replacement, am still waiting on getting mine, as we received RFE on my AOS, have my Biometrics Appt monday 13th in Charlotte, NC so will have to get up early for the 2 1/2 hour drive across the border appt time 1pm thankfully.. at least they didnt make us travel down to Memphis Tn which is over 7 1/2 hrs away as we are in North East Tennessee..

Am hoping when we go for the biometrics that they can help me sort out the RFE requests on my AOS, they have requested items that i submitted already with my AOS ie, Certified copy of Birth Cert, Copy of I-94, Biographical sheet, that i already included, so wonder what the hell happened to them as i had them all in order and listed on Cover Letter and my Husband and I checked them off 4 times before we posted them,

I am getting tired of the slackness of USCIS and the stress it places on you, having sold my home, sold off a bunch of belongings and packed up the rest, left my country and family, and US Immigration just makes that even more stressful, not to mention being told that my Application for Travel would be expedited so that i could travel back to Aussie to be with my Dying Father, only to get the Approval in the mail the day of my Fathers Funeral, forgive me venting, but sometimes it just seems to be so unfairly biased towards other immigrants who can just walk across the border, be given Social Security, Free Health Care and whatever else they need and we are put through the Wringer literally, not to mention the payments/expenses weve had along the way.

Cheers Kaye

Man, wandering around the forums in the K-1 area can be so depressing. So many angry people. :(

You guys are much happier. How's life, everyone? Are the holidays stressing you guys out yet? For myself, I simply can't wait for the holidays to be over. Not because it stresses me out, but because I have a lot to look forward to in February! I'm coming back to Australia!!!! :D

You know the holidays ARE stressing me out :( Tony's family are a**holes (there's previous posts about this) and it looks like even though we moved up to Iowa to be closer to his family, it will just be me, Tony and Tilly (our dog) for Christmas. I gotta admit it's pretty depressing sometimes but otherwise..

Snow is weird.. Mum asked me about it and I noticed, at night especially, it smells like a freezer outside. Tilly is only a baby (6 months old) and it was her first snow experience, don't know if this will work but here's a vid off her when she got to play in it:

http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150345744265608

She also started eating the snow. She thought it was awesome that the ground was edible.

Yay for going back to Aus in Feb!! What are your plans? Where are you visiting? Your s/o going with you? First time for them? Touristy stuff planned?

Awww... the holidays can do that. I'm not even thinking about the holidays. My 'Christmas' is in February! :P

And snow.. Snow is great for a while. But if you're prone to being real cold.. it's not that fun! That, and how the salt they put on the ground to melt the ice ends up rusting the undercarriage of your car. I always hated that. It is fun though when you're inside a warm house, with your love, and a cup of hot chocolate. :) That sounds like the perfect way to spend the holidays, no?

Can't see the video... it won't let me due to privacy settings. But I'll bet it's way cute! Should post some pictures for us!

And the trip in Feb... he's the one from Aus. I'm from the US. I've been there before. It's not a long trip... so we're not going to do too much. I just remember that every time I leave Aus, I feel like I'm leaving my heart there. He's always lived there, though. So yea.. going to visit him while we wait for our NOA2. And by accident... our 5 month mark is the day I leave. That was unintended! But I am beyond excited! :)

Yup....people have a real attitude on some of these boards. Us aussies are a pretty friendly group :)

I work in retail, so the holiday season is pretty stressful. I'd love to be happy this time of year but it's kind of hard when you are on the receiving end of rudeness every day, even when you are being as nice as you can be to them :( So yeah I can't wait to it to be January.

As for Christmas, it's just Alex and I. His whole family live in Utah and of course mine are back home. I had a bit of a cry the other night because I was feeling a bit lonely about it being just us. Last year I was crying because I wasn't with Alex! But we are going to make it a great holiday...we just got out first christmas tree and decorations (and our cat is destroying the decorations as I type, hahaha). I loving the fact I get to spoil my husband :)

Aww about the cry. I did too. Tuesday night actually and then had a bit of a fight with Tony last night so I was feeling even MORE emotional and alone... ugh. It WILL get better I'm sure of it.. I just wish it would hurry up!
