Congrats CareBear!!

Bex, your luggage tags are so darn adorable! I miss my 2 kitties that stayed in Oz :(. I want the luggage tags but they won't let you get them in the US....bum! I'll try to get my sis back home to order me some.

CareBear - Reading through the posts I was REALLY down to hear that your police certificate problems have held up your visa approval. and then REALLY excited to hear that today you got the approval. YAY! WOO! Congrats!

Kaye - I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, do what you've gotta do cos nothing is more important than family. I hope you get the paperwork sorted quickly so you don't have to worry about that aspect.

Bex - Grats on selling the car! Great news :) You're so close to the finish line! :) The luggage tags are very cute. Yum - cat soup. ;) I might have to get myself some free tags.

I'm SO not going to go see Going the Distance... I think I'll be bawling my eyes out the whole time. I think I teared up watching the preview LOL. I'm a soft touch.

Oh hey... well... almost forgot..... but.... NOA2!!!! We got an email today saying our NOA2 was sent out 8th September. NOA1 date was 2nd April so this has been a long time coming. So relieved. In the nick of time too since I had a massive meltdown yesterday morning about it all. It's like they *knew*

Anyway, now it's back in line for NVC. :(

I saw this last night at the movies with my sister. Has some great giggle moments in it - will confess there was one part that hit a little too close to home having done the long distance thing and I teared up - my sister was horrified, kept patting my knee in sympathy

I still haven't seen it yet. I might have to try and wrangle a babysitter so we can go to the movies and watch it. :P

I'm thinking the only RFE I might get is that Ham signed some of the docs in black ink. *sigh* He didn't see the big deal even though it said all over the packet to sign in blue to show original copies. On top of that he put that we were married in Illinois, USA instead of the actual city. Again he didn't see the big deal. He's a male so it's to be figured. But he finally got to see how #######-retentive I can get when it comes to his visa. :P

I made it!

All the stories were making me wonder about what the processing at LAX would be like... turned out that I went through customs first, and then exited the terminal last

The passport officer that I first saw was a bit of a retard and didn't give me full details of where to go, so I was standing there for a bit til I managed to get the attention of one of the guards...

Other than that, ALL GOOD :D

I'm here in Denver, arrived about 1hr ago. Just had a homecooked meal of lamb and veges... and dessert is on its way.

Freight has gone well so far. Paid and dropped off a couple of weeks ago. Roy sent me the Airwaybill, Flight Details and Receipt yesterday (whilst I was flying). Now I'm just waiting on a call from the freight receiving company @ Denver International so I can go pick it up. Very easy process :)

You think of a lot of people haha! Went and checked out some banks today. I am going to have to hit up some part time jobs or something soon, doing nothing is driving me up the wall.

As for your two idiots - have you changed your flights yet? and when do you plan on finishing up at work?

Yay! Hey Bex, SO happy to hear you've arrived. Enjoy! Very pleased for you and your family. I bet they're happy to see you.

When I get to the states, I'm gonna be jumping into a volunteer job as soon as I step off the plane. Downtime doesn't agree with me. Looking for paid work can come later.

So, the current plan for me and the hubby is... He's going to fly out here for Christmas. BEST case scenario will be if I get my visa before or during his trip. If that's the case, then he will help me move out of my unit in Sydney, move my stuff back to Mums, spend a week with Mum then we'll fly back together if I can score a ticket on his return flights, or on separate flights if not. If I haven't got the visa by then, I'm thinking I might move back to Mums anyway and hang out with her for a month or however long it takes to get the visa. My work contract runs out at Christmas and then there's forced 2 weeks holiday, so going back for only a short while doesn't appeal to me.

I'm gonna stay optimistic and hope I have the visa by the end of December... or end of Jan at the latest.

Cheers,

Jess
