Congrats Giggles and DontWhateverMe on your NOA2s :) and happy travels to those making their way over this week! Exciting times!

I am settling into life in New Orleans. It's such a beautiful city and enjoying it with Brian is wonderful. Our wedding is in 28 days, so we are very busy at the moment. And also Carnivale, Valentines day and Mardi Gras is just before the wedding! It's gonna be an exciting couple of weeks!! We have gotten pretty much everything sorted out now (huh whatever happened to having just a small wedding??). Chasing RSVPs is a little annoying, but my parents will be here soon and also some close friends from Australia are travelling over, so I have a permanent smile on my face these days :)

Hope everyone is travelling well with their journeys.

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!

...oh and GEAUX SAINTS!!! (American Football, I don't understand it, but you can't help getting into the spirit  )

Any NOA2 news today Terri?

Hope you're all having a good weekend :)

No news today Jamie -- though we moved on Igor's List and the K1 timeline shifted a little..so fingers crossed it keeps moving smoothly forward.

I am taking a breaking from packing at present..I have managed to clear 2 rooms today -- only the rest of the house to go LOL.

Glad you have settled in Natalie -- must be an amazing city to explore too.

Does anyone know what the requirements are for the shot records? My guy doesn't have a copy of his vaccination records. Has anyone had that happen to them before and what happened?

Will he need to get all of the shots again? Also, I know that some of the shots are staged so will he need to take those each at separate times?

I'll be interested to know this also Bacon, as I don't have any records and have moved too many times, especially as a kid.

Maybe this will be your week Terri! Have fun with the packing, glad it's you and not me haha.

He can have a blood test done to check for antibodies for the required vaccinations. You will need to have him take the list to his GP. Once he has the results, the GP can do them. There are some vaccinations that cannot be done on the same day, so it helps if you have the blood testing done first.

Not sure where he is but in Qld, the pathology cost $177 as costs for medicals for immigration purposes are not covered by Medicare. I know someone else on here managed to have theirs covered by Medicare (Simon or Jason I think) but that was luck in my opinion and I know it was NSW.

Hiya Don'twhateverme, is this the correct list of vaccs they request?

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/PDF/wk/mm5753-Immunization.pdf

Do you think it's too early for me, considering we aren't filing the K1 until at least June, for me to get a blood test through my Doctor to see what ones I need?

Also once they're done, do you just need to take the blood/vacc records with you when it comes time for the actual medical for the Visa?

It changed in November. Here is the link for the 2010 schedule:-

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/PDF/wk/mm5901-Immunization.pdf

It's not too early. I rang the panel physician in Brisbane before I had the blood test to make sure if they will accept it. They had no problem with it. Someone in Vic may be able to tell you if the panel physicians down there will accept it as well.

Thanks for the updated link :)

If the panel physician doesn't accept the blood test, how do they determine what vaccs you need when it comes time for the medical? Do they do a blood test there and then make you go back for whatever vaccs you need?

Thanks Kaffy, so do you have it done before your medical or after? Sorry I'm still none the wiser lol.

When you do your medical, they ask that you bring your immunisation history. If you don't have your history, or are unable to get it, some people have had the blood test to test their immunity. The list provided is a good comparison but DON'T think it means that those are ALL the ones you have to have had (the purple highlighted ones depend on health factors etc). Several of the shots on the list were not "age appropriate" for me. I mention that because a couple of people had their shots PRIOR to the medical and I don't agree with that simply because you don't need ALL the ones on the list... still it MIGHT end up cheaper in some cases... so have the blood test around now, find out your immunity and make sure you ask for the records/receipts so you can take the blood test results, and the shots record to your K1 medical.

Also, this http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/Laws/Memoranda/...anges121509.pdf memo page 7 states that the HPV isn't needed any more, neither is Zoster, and yet the link provided by kaffy still lists HPV... I think it's just a stuff up but just an FYI.

These are the technical instructions http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/civil_sur...nstructions.pdf dated Dec 14 2009.

Also there is no more HIV test, here: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/hiv-guidance-panel-civil.htm

Here's the list laid out pretty good I think: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/laws_regs/fed...-fact-sheet.pdf again some of the ones listed have age/health requirements

This is the simplified version of the list kaffy mentioned: http://www.immunize.org/catg.d/p4030.pdf

Okay. I'm done. :D

What link are you referring to? I haven't posted any vaccine links in this thread recently so perhaps you are referring to an old thread that was prior to the changes?
