Wow that's a heap of stuff! :)

oh hey, in relation to the medical stuff, the doctor is mailing mine to me... Do I open it and photocopy? I don't wanna open it if I'm gonna get in trouble but wouldn't mind a sneak peek and to photocopy!

:)

I wouldn't simply because -- when we receive ours (I got mine at the same place as mrsemcee) it is sealed and addressed to the consulate. I would NOT open that envelope. I did email the consulate and ask about copies and they advised I could ask at the interview however the only one I need is the one with my immunisation history, a copy of which should be included in the package received from the doctor, outside of the sealed envelope to the consulate. I would not open a sealed envelope for the reason that it looks like you opened it to tamper and I wouldn't want to risk that accusation.

Just my opinion though. If I ever want a copy of my record I could just ask the doctor/receptionist to mail me a copy.

You are entitled to copies of the medical documents. unless it is stamped in big red letters "Do not Open" which is the letter you take to the consulate, then you are fine.

I don't understand. Are you saying you received two separate envelopes? one with a sealed letter from the doctor, the other with the results that you could copy? Because mine was just one envelope addressed to the consulate and sealed.

Or are you talking about the MBE you receive once you're approved?

Posted

It is a good idea to ask for copies if you can because I used mine for my employee health screening and it eliminated the need to get titre tests, etcs since the immigration documents were considered "official"

(I work in the hospital system and we generally need to prove Hep B, Varicella and MMR immunity.. in addition to being free from TB)

Well if your doctor is mailing them directly to you separate from the package that you have to take to the consulate then it would be fine. If it's the consulate package stamped DO NOT OPEN, then don't open that. You can call your doctor for copies of the medical. Loke just asked him when he was there for copies and the doctor was fine with it and gave him copies.

copies are good to have because it got us through the medical stuff here that we had to go through

If you look on the instruction page on the Sydney Consulate website, it will give you a list of approved panel physicians for the medical... I would recommend calling all the ones in your area just to see how far ahead they're booking. When I heard mine was booking a month ahead, I went ahead and booked it, figuring I'd have what I need by then.

You'll need to take any paperwork you receive from the consulate (I'm going ahead and assuming I'll need a copy of the NOA2), your passport, 3x passport size photos (Aussie PP photo size is different from the US - US photos are 2" square, so that's what size I'm taking), and any immunization records you might have. The lady I spoke to said not to worry too much about the immunizations as the doctor is likely to order a blood test to determine your immunities anyway.

My only blood family in Australia are my adult sons. Although they have met hubby and dont appear to be any issue with our relationship I'm a little reluctant to ask them as I think they may feel as if they are being disloyal to their Dad.

I have Australian citizen friends in Oz that I am waiting for and the others will be from the USA. I agree with your motto, USCIS has taught me well!

Hi Aussies! This is my first post in this thread (I just found it!)

I'm from Adelaide and am awaiting my packet 3. It took 118 days from NOA1 to NOA2 for us. I called the NVC yesterday and they told me they have our case, and it should be sent to Sydney this week (originally they said it had already been sent, what a tease).

Anyway, SCFsnoopy, I am guessing that pakage that went to Sydney late last week was yours :)

Good luck everyone!
