Hi.. I've been trolling these forums for a while and this is my first time posting. I have what I am hoping is a simple question:)

My finace and I are going to be filing for the K1 soon and I was wondering if I will be able to travel to the US to visit him (probably only once or twice for a week at a time) while it is being processed. I am finding conflicting answers online so any help is appreciated!

Hello! There are no restrictions on traveling after filing a K1 Visa. Just be sure you bring sufficient evidence of your return home so that you have no problems getting through Customs. They just want to make sure your intent isn't to stay when you are on the VWP.

03-05-2008 - I-129F NOA2

04-08-2008 - Medical Exam

04-17-2008 - Interview!!!

04-22-2008 - VISA IN HAND!

05-02-2008 - U.S. Entrance

06-14-2008 - MARRIAGE!

Phase 2....

06-19-2008 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP

06-26-2008 - AOS/EAD/AP NOA1

07-19-2008 - Biometrics

07-22-2008 - Transferred to CSC!

07-28-2008 - Email from CRIS confirming CSC received case

08-25-2008 - Received AP in the mail (NO STATUS CHANGE OR CRIS EMAIL)

08-29-2008 - Received EAD card in the mail (NO STATUS CHANGE OR CRIS EMAIL)

09-22-2008 - Received Email from CRIS for I-485 "CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!"

09-27-2008 - Received Green Card in the mail!

Phase 3....

06-29-2010 - Sent I-751 and package to Remove Conditions

07-06-2010 - NOA1

08-24-2010 - Biometrics

The I-129F does not show in the system so you can still travel back and forth.

You may have to show ties to your country, ie employers letter, apartment lease/mortgage, return ticket.

When asked who i was visiting i just said family and friends, i did not mention specifically my fiance.

Good luck with a speedy approval.

07/19/2008 I-129f received at VSC

12/09/2008 NOA2 approved

01/13/2009 Medical completed

02/03/2009 Interview - APPROVED!!

02/28/2009 POE Raleigh/Durham

05/02/2009 Official wedding day...get to see the family!

04/11/2009 AOS paperwork sent

04/17/2009 NOA for I-765 & I-131

05/13/2009 Biometrics appointment

05/08/2009 Biometrics done

06/05/2009 EAD & AP approved

06/23/2009 back in the UK
