Hello everyone

My title says it all.

New here. Sent out I-130 using guide here. Got the NOA stating it was received. Looking at the guide You then send the I-129F. The guide says include copy of transfer notice. Also copy of NOA. Looking at few peoples timeline I don't see anything about receiving a Transfer notice. Only I-130 NOA1 In the bottom left hand corner is the address for California Service Center. Do I just go ahead and send I-129F packet to California Service Center or wait for NOA2

Thanks in advance to whom ever responds. Thomas

You only need to send a copy of the transfer notice, if your case is transferred. Since your case has not been transferred, you only need to include a copy of the NOA1. If you are looking to bring your spouse to the US, then you might consider just doing the I-130 standalone.

i recently applied I-130 for my spouse. Just last week I received, I-797C, Notice of Action. Even though I applied at Vermont Center, I believe my letter came from a CA address? Does anyone know why is that? Also, even though I have been provided a receipt no. every time I try to check the status online i get an error message saying the case wasn't found.

anyone knows what's going on here? thanks for your help.

patriot05 - A lot of applications are being shifted from Vermont to California, a number of members on this forum have reported this, and it is likely do to USCIS trying to balance out the workload between the two service centers.

Your case should be available online shortly, give it a week or two after getting your NOA1. Members have also reported this delay. Good Luck!!

Hi,

We just got our 120 NOA1 today. Since I've been reading the whole concept of filing the K3 then switching if 130 approved before, I've been wondering why to even file the 129 and just go the CR route. Now reading this, it seems this isn't a bad idea, but I am wondering what your reasons are for not going the dual route.

Also, if we go the CR route (I-130 standalone) at this point we're in a holding pattern right? Just waiting to hear from them?

Thanks much!

Since both the I-130 and I-129F are getting approved at the same time, all you are doing is taking the I-130 out of line and getting it placed with the I-129F. If you don't have a specific need to use the K-3, like bringing children along on the same petition. Just stick to the I-130. Also the service centers seem to be processing the standalone I-130s faster. Good Luck!!
