First of all this discussion is in the wrong forum second the topic title is way off and wrong you are painting with a broad brush a USC with “ANY” felony record does not disqualify you from obtaining a k1.Check your facts before posting there is enough ####### to weed through when going through this process keeping the disinfo to a minimum will make things easier for others

Especially a felony against a woman. You can thank IMBRA for that and support it 100%. This is why we have IMBRA to protect women fro those killers,pimps,pediphile, molesters drug addicts e.t.c. This IMBRA does not bother me 'cause i have no criminal past to worry about. And frankly i think most interviewers are gonna frown at any criminal records. Especially a violent one. which is good. No need putting an innocent woman at risk because she wants to live in America !!!

What are the odds of that happening? Most of us DON'T have criminal records and I feel like this law is making us feel as though we're all criminals, unless we prove otherwise.

I disagree with that grismar. In order to offer some protection to these women coming from foriegn lands, it seems the only way to sort the bad guys from the good guys is to just straight "cold call" every last one of us. Like everything, I guess the couple of bad ones ruined it for all the rest of us. The analogy would be like the one guy at the ballgame who threw the bottled beer he bought, onto the field, and now we all have to drink out of plastic cups.

Which sucks for obvious reasons, mainly prolonging our seperation from our loved one, but if it saves a handful of women per year from the hands of predators-who use this k1 process to just to trick a woman into their trap and then beat on her, then I think its a good idea.
