Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I had my 3rd approved and it was within 2 years of the 2nd approval. The first 2 girls had backed out on me and never made it here to the US (they were 19 yrs old and this had most to do with it). This time it was me who backed out on this 3rd one, and she went back to the Philippines. Im still hoping to find a filipina wife cause I just cant meet the kind of woman I want here. So I may be looking for my 4th petition some day, perhpas sooner than later. Im just havent been ready to give my search any effort yet. Maybe Ill be the first 4th petition IMBRA test case here. If so, Ill be sure to let everyone know how it goes. If I could only find a 30 to 36 yr old woman in the states who isnt overweight, carrying baggage from previous marriages, and who doesnt care how much money I make, then I just might not need to look overseas for marriage.

This is a post from another thread. 3 young girls backing out of a marriage to a middle aged man because they probably realised the reality of having to marry an amercian for the prospect of a better life wasn't worth it afterall.....

He was obviously in love with all 3 of them over the 2 year period! Doesn't this prove my point?

It proves that some people are self delusional to varying degrees - that guy is on the farther side of the spectrum. The USC has to show proof of a bonafide relationship in order to be approved. The USCIS is going to apply a lot more scrutiny to someone like him for multiple petitions. In fact, I believe there's a limit since IMBRA was enacted. Are there schmucks out there? Of course. Are there people who marry for reasons besides love? Of course. Does the measurement of a bonafide relationship depend solely on love? Nope.

Hi, guys. I totally just married a woman from a country where women are mostly given second-class status. When I move her to the US, I don't want her to continue to be second-class but if she doesn't speak English or drive, that's how it is. So I teach her how to drive, enroll her in ESL classes. It's great. She throws dishes at me but eventually she'll figure out that women in the US have other avenues to express their displeasure outside of the home.

Is this wife a fish? I have only ever heard of fish being landed, not wives.

Regardless, there are many types of man, and if you don't know that Danno, that's fine by me.

maybe a good analogy: ask what is used for bait :P

In the Philippines, it's the other way around. When a young Filipina is walking around with a foreigner, you hear not so discreet mumblings from the crowd. I have heard more than once, in English, in Tagalog, or in a local dialect, "Wow! She really caught herself a big fish!"

sorry for the delayed reply. I only surf this board on workdays, and was banned by kim and russ for 48 anyway because some indian person got offended when i gave my opinion on india.

anyway. my wife was certified CET8 when i met her, so she was already fluent in english. She worked as a translator in china, so did not need to be taught functional english, just the cultural idioms and slang. she did come from a country where most people don't drive, so i taught her how to and bought her a GPS. she does throw dishes occasionally, and i don't think she will ever stop. i kinda like it, and it creates an excuse to go shopping with her, which is always fun.
