Would you not feel that you had failed, as a father if another 'father figure' had to teach her how to be a good wife?

What I see, is you, a Western man, trying to justify your midlife crisis in ways that become increasingly more bizarre as time goes on. What Chinese people do within their own culture is one thing (a culture you show a token respect for when it suits and to disparage and insult when it does not) and what a Western man does when he chooses to visit and or take a bride from within another culture should be quite another.

my wife has a good relationship with her father. he and i get on well, also. he is about 10 years older than i am.

learn a little bit about chinese culture before you school me on it, huh? read a little bit about Sun Yat Sen's marriages.

Again, nothing to do with what I was addressing. You are a Western man. I am not schooling you on Chinese culture, simply trying to understand why a Western man would try to emulate some Chinese cultural phenomena and not others. Seemingly, the ones you 'like' pertain to the treatment of women as 'children' to be formed and sculpted into your version of what a wife should be. I find that an odd thing for a Western man to wish for.

charlie?

it's because someone's reading impaired. i sure hope obama can help her with a stimulus plan.

charlie?

It beats the hec outta Chuckie!

How about Carlitos?????

carlos will work. or karl.

 Keep working on it Charlie, eventually, who knows? I might find something you say a tad irritating. Oh, but that would only work if I cared how I was perceived by you. Ooops, I don't.

keep working on what? the fact you can't read and that you insist on being intentionally annoying?

Nah, you are either just a lazy ######, lack education, or are trying to be 'young and trendy'. Softly spoken? What a bunch of #######.

judgementalism, party of one, your table is ready.

Good grief, look #######, I do know why most people don't use capitals and other forms of punctuation on message boards, for whatever reason they haven't learned to use a keyboard to full effect and it means nothing more than that. I certainly don't judge people simply based on their use of a keyboard.

Justashooter on the other hand switches between different styles of writing, sometimes capitalizations, sometimes not, sometimes paragraphs correctly used, sometimes not, sometimes using all correct punctuation, sometimes not. That is odd, whichever way you slice it.

apparently someone is spun up about not using caps. i wonder who that is.

:secret: the #'s give it away.

 Spun up? How could you be so far off the mark Charlie? Unbelievable.

sure thing, madam chav ;)

Yeah, like you know what a chav is...keep trying charlie, eventually you will hit on something that will upset me...

what, you mean wiki is wrong?

guess we're back to this type of posting again

It seems rather quixotic (I've always wanted to use that word in a sentence :P)

I wonder how many are googling right now?

Liefde is een bloem zo teer dat hij knakt bij de minste aanraking en zo sterk dat niets zijn groei in de weg staat

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

.png

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Idiots who have not read anything besides comic books might need to.

If Justashooter is Quixote, who would be Sancho Panza?
