I think it's their business and their life and only they can live it.

says 90 year old man married to 20 year old hottie :jest:

I think that its odd and probably is what it looks like, I often wonder what they could possible have in common, but if they grow old, well him older and her old and love and respect each other, I say all power to them.

Its like marrying your own father. Ewwwwwww!!

Sorry, no offence, just gross to me

Not for them and to me.

When I dated a guy same age as me, I feel like dating my brother :bonk: .

Just kidding, good luck in your journeys.

Huh??

Why can't someone around your own age be your friend? your best friend may be. I don't get the brotherly connection.......too gross.

FYI- my bro is 6 years younger than me and my husband is 1.5 years older than I am; I see no connection.

And to the OP, whatever floats their boat, I am not living their life, so why should I really even care? Everyone has their own definite view of how and what they want in life, so let it be like that.

You should read why I replied "I feel like dating my brother."

My male best friends are my cousins  . I grew up surrounded with my relatives. Anyway, I'm always surrounded with college guys. So far, I'm not tempted to ####### around because my husband is 17.5 years older than me. My husband works 13 hours a day, if I do wild side, he wouldn't know anything, and If people degraded me because of my choices then I deserved it, but my dignity isn't dirty as vomit.

Look at Tom Cruise wife. She is young as me. :hehe:

I think Different people come to Marriage requiring different things.

And while I too have rolled my eyes at some of the pics posted here, not just age but oddly matched in other ways, I really wish these folks good luck (assuming they are on the level with intentions).

But If I am to be honest, I would have to say, people who "seek" a person of 25 or more years difference must have some issues, it's one thing to "just happen to fall in love" with someone a lot younger or older, it's another thing to put that on your shopping list when looking for a date.

Now from my own experience, my wife is younger than me by more than a decade (and she even looks young for her age) , It's never been an issue between us but when we meet people, they often.. sooner or later ask how old we are... usually in a round about way.

I suspect many of these extreme age marriages fail but for those who come to it for the right reasons, they can and do last as some of us have seen.

I get tired of reading these posts from these age bigots.

I find it quite unusual that folks in multi-cultural relationships don't realize that everything you say about age differences can be applied to your relationship by people that dont know you.

Thanks for the clarification and I understand where you are coming from.

Do I personally have age issue? Honestly, I do. I don't think I will be ever comfortable dating anyone who is 5 years older than me and 2 years younger than I am. My husband teases me about it, that I am too hung up on age and I am but do I feel others should do what I feel like, no I don't. As I said before I don't really get involved into others life and what/how they choose to live it.

My best friend is married to someone who is 12 years older than her, she is happy. She has always wanted someone more matured in age from her, someone who is more serious towards life and she got what she wanted. For me things were different, I always wanted someone of my own age and I got it.

So it really is to each on its own. What doesn't work for you doesn't mean won't work for others. And I rest my case :P

Exactly! Like the other day I met this Indian store owner and he started giving me a lecture about how I brought shame to Indians by marrying a white guy, well I politely I asked him to DEAL WITH IT!

In my husband's culture there isn't a big enough age difference between my husband age and mine.

We have a 4 year difference and the "normal" age difference is Albania is 10-12 years.

I have a 63 year old buddy that married 23 year old filipina and brought her to the US 2 years ago.

Both of them are VERY happy so far. He's like a kid in a candy store and she's enjoying a life of semi luxury. When he goes belly up her and her family in the Philippines won't have to worry about where the next meal is coming from ever. At the same time he is one HAPPY camper. Bought out our local drugs stores Viagra supply.

I've seen LOTS here on VJ that are already divorcing before removing conditions.

My pop didn't need Viagra until he was 85!!!

Age differences among consenting adults are their choice, not ours. Why dwell on this issue?

In our case, the age difference is almost 10 years, but the maturity level is equal. Different cultures = different rates of maturity and responsibility.

We get these threads from time to time...usually someone thinking outloud what a lot people are thinking when they see couples that seem an odd pair, whether it's age difference, height, weight, attractiveness, etc. We're curious animals. That said, I don't think it really serves any point to talk about it in the open, particularly here where we have a lot of couples. I'm sure most couples here knew what they were getting themselves into, including the stares from strangers.
