Being ####### about puncuation says alot about a person. Look who is president, a handsome well spoken idiot.

No one is being ####### about anything. Someone is simply wondering why one particular poster lacks consistency in his writing style and while doing so this someone decided to piss off Charlie, simply because this someone finds doing so a bunch of fun.

However, I will be pedantic about your post, using correct grammar and being well spoken are different skills.

So, am I correct in thinking that Justashooter views being married somewhat like parenthood? Wow, what a blast!

 Sometimes I think you have Obama on the brain - as you can't go a day without mentioning him in threads where its (beyond) irrelevant.

As far as that goes - when people claimed Bush was deficient in the brain department, it was at least based on innumerable observations: things he said, the language he used, whether or not he could answer questions in a way that demonstrated that he understood the issues involved.

Not to dispute your assertion - but can you do that for Obama?

So you can see how a Taoist man is ideally suited for the role of an older husband. He cares for his wife as he would anyone needing guidance, encouraging her to grow in an healthy direction, having completed the revant stages in his own life. This is possible with an asian woman. It may not work well with a westernised woman.

It sounds rather like paternalism. Definitely sounds like its suited for someone with a big ego and overinflated sense of self that you see yourself in this way.

Very strange.

Isn't it just? He has learned life skills and needs to 'pass those on' to a young girl. I wonder if he would view his daughters marrying older men in such a charitable light? That is if he has daughters. I can't remember now, but I think so. Makes you think...

If you understand paternalism, then you understand one face of the traditional Chinese marriage. If a man will be succesful in a marriage to a traditional Chinese woman like my wife, he must understand and adopt parts of the role. To fail in this regard will lead to chaos within the home. Traditionan Chinese women can be very difficult for a weak man to live with, as they have no respect for weakness, and feel insecure when tied to a weak man. Other asians are similar, in degree.

I always thought the mockery of the Mongol culture seen in the Buck Rogers films was entertaining. The dynastic name, the costumes, the actor's gestures, it was all very funny. Ming was a Mongol dynasty that was harsh on the Han people, and the Ching replacement was well received in it's early days, as a return to Han power. Mongols, to this day, are not well liked in most of China.

Here ya go! Way worse than Bush!

The trouble was Bush was judged on the basis of dozens of interviews and press conferences he fluffed over an 8 year period.

Obama would have his work cut-out to beat that.

When I was living back in the UK it used to be funny the first couple of years after Bush got elected - hearing him make gaffe after gaffe whenever he appeared on TV, but eventually it got old and a bit embarrassing to see the country run by such an obvious dope.

A dope who had to defer the subordinates when asked specific questions of policy. While Obama may rely inordinately on teleprompters for speeches - he's pretty good on the fly at answering questions in a way that shows he understands the issues involved.

In that regard Obama is a fairly typical politician - well-spoken, obviously intellectually gifted but who may well fall short of the high promises he made in the campaign (as Tony Blair did in the UK). I wouldn't call Blair unintelligent, but he certainly was a slimy wanker.

Bush by contrast was the substandard figure. In fact wasn't that part of his initial appeal - that he wasn't a "typical" politician but rather a down to earth guy that people would want to have a beer with?

Of course - we know the truth now.

Nah, you are either just a lazy ######, lack education, or are trying to be 'young and trendy'. Softly spoken? What a bunch of #######.

judgementalism, party of one, your table is ready.

Good grief, look #######, I do know why most people don't use capitals and other forms of punctuation on message boards, for whatever reason they haven't learned to use a keyboard to full effect and it means nothing more than that. I certainly don't judge people simply based on their use of a keyboard.

Justashooter on the other hand switches between different styles of writing, sometimes capitalizations, sometimes not, sometimes paragraphs correctly used, sometimes not, sometimes using all correct punctuation, sometimes not. That is odd, whichever way you slice it.

apparently someone is spun up about not using caps. i wonder who that is.

But how does this tie in with your statement that chinese men are metaphorically "short of schlong". Wouldn't it need to be the opposite in order for this to work?

That's not the question I posed. I wondered how you would feel if one of your young daughters was 'taken in hand' by an older man, say a guy in his 40's man who wanted to 'educate' her and make her his ideal of what a wife should be?
