We all have a psyche that is centered on an ego, which is pulled in one direction by an id, and in another direction by a superego. Evil is the absolute polarisation of the psyche towards the id, with a complete absence of superego. This is rarely seen, and ugly in it's face. I am talking about axis 2 polarisation only in this case. Axis 1 generated negative behaviours are a seperate issue, though they may share apparent manifestations.

As for each man doing what is in his heart:

Let's just say that if every man did what was in his heart, this place would be a hell of a carnival, and eventually descend into a wonderfully target rich environment.
