Getting my papers in orders

Hello,

It’s getting close for us to file the I751. I want to get all my paperwork together so I can send it of exactly 90 day’s prior to my expiration of my GC.

What I was wondering is about the Cover letter. Should I have one, or not? What should I add in the letter? I see mostly it is used to list the documentation off all the evidence you send with the I751. I just was wondering if one can add that even though we are only married since 2006 we are been together for 12 years. Is that not in itself evidence for a truthful marriage?

Also my husband bought a house before we got married with his own money. I do not want my name on his deed. Should I but an explanation into the cover letter, why there is no joint deed or Moorgate documentation??

An other question is about the “ Sworn Affidavit from Friends ” sample form given by VJ. It says this on top of form

BEFORE THE UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES

UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY

#A123456789 (do I writ here my A number)

This may sound stupid but what does this Line exactly mean?

This form has to be filled out and signed in front of a Notary by my friends. Do I have to be present at that time when they signing it at the Notary?? Or can they do this by them self. Has anyone an other Affidavit form sample I could look at?

We wrote a cover letter for our I-751. In it I addressed items I wanted to highlight and 'explain', such as we had no joint lease or mortgage since my husband bought the house before our marriage and we had a fixed 30 year mortgage rate we didn't want to change, nor was there a need to add my name on the deed as under Georgia law, I was already considered co-owner. We had nearly 4 years worth of documentation to include so I addressed that as well, then included an itemized table of contents. I would certainly include a statement that you have been together 12 years even if you have only been married since 2006 - that helps to lend credibility to the relationship.

You don't have to be present when the notary notarizes the affidavit of support but the person 'writing' the letter does. We didn't use affidavits as we had a substantial amount of other evidence so I can't help you more there. Good luck.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
