Has this happened to anyone??

DH's visa was approved on the day of his interview, Feb. 12. However, it was "suspended" because we couldn't leave his passport at the embassy. We had to fly out to Glasgow that night since plane tickets were far cheaper than train tickets for us, at the time.

So we sent his passport back to the embassy via secure mail services a week after the interview. We waited a long time, until DH heard from them this morning. He received a letter from the embassy telling him to call them regarding his immigrant visa.

Normally I'd be calm about this and figure it was something minor, or there was something they needed to clear up, but we are both so paranoid now. Everything has been working against us ever since we started this process. We began in June 2007, we filed directly with the consulate and it shouldn't have taken so long, but it has, due to one thing after another. We just can't help feeling some sort of dread and worry over it now. What could they possibly want after everything we've been through for the past 1.5+ years. He's already been through the medical and the interview, he was approved, can they just not stamp his passport and send it back, what would they need to know...

Anyway just want to know if this has happened to anyone. TIA.

The call may have simply been for him to come pickup the passport from the embassy. Good Luck, I am sure everything will work out!!!

Thank you for the reassurance.. but I don't know how they'd expect him to go pick up the passport, they'd just send it back via secure mail. *sigh* and of course the letter has to get to him Saturday, when he can't call and find out right away what's going on.

Did you pay the fees to receive the passport back? You have to pay SMS.

Yes, we paid for the service to pick up the passport, and have it returned to us as well.

What is the expiry date on his passport - is it still good for 6 months or more?

Yes, it's good until 2013.

I'm just getting a headache with all the worrying i'm doing. Might as well try to stay calm and positive until Monday, since I really cannot figure what it could possibly be and we've already been approved.

I have a thought, just make the call. It was approved. If there is some thing to worry about then worry but for now its approved and be happy that you can finally be together

There was a Canadian, who had a call back after visa was approved, it was just a minor glitch regarding finger printing. They had to fingerprint her again, so it might be something technical with your case too. Don't worry too much.

Oh gosh, I seriously hope it has nothing to do with having to go back either! He's been there so many times and spent so much money! Well, better that than anything truly very serious.

He is going to have to miss another day of work, shell out over 100 pounds on travel. We have spent a ton on travel, due to a number things that required him to return to London. I hope this is the very end of it. He will go on a sleeper train Wednesday night to do it on Thursday and then come right back.

He is going to have to miss another day of work, shell out over 100 pounds on travel. We have spent a ton on travel, due to a number things that required him to return to London. I hope this is the very end of it. He will go on a sleeper train Wednesday night to do it on Thursday and then come right back.

No clue, something about it not properly showing up on their computers when they tried to retrieve info about his case. Something like that anyway.

Quick update, they retook his fingerprints, and gave his passport back to him. He is now back home in Glasgow after a long train ride, with passport and visa, and that sealed envelope My goodness has this been a longggggg journey. Now I wait for him to fly over in about a couple of weeks.
