I don't think you are allowed to do that. :D Just buy milk in Manila when you get there. That makes it so much easier... :-)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I loved the eggs and garlic rice. It is one of my cherished memories! We would go to the hotel restaurant together in hte mornings and that is what we would get to eat. I just ate that again this morning, for the 3rd day in a row, just for the memories.... I miss her and breakfast with her sooooo much! I even use the spoon and fork in the way we ate there.

I miss my wife so much.... 56 days to go... I miss you Jopay! And I love you!

I have learned how to make a few foods from there. I make awsome pancit canton, for one...

Hmmmm...with all of the delicious food in the Philippines, I can not understand why you would eat cereal.

How about this for breakfast:

> scrambled eggs

> garlic rice

> bangus

> dalandan juice

Yum...I'm getting hungry!

Hi Brian and Jopay...

All of this talk about Filipino breakfast brought back wonderful memories of my fiancée and me having our breakfast together every morning in Boracay. I loved the food...and I miss it. But, I love my fiancée so much more...and I really miss her!

I miss having our morning coffee together on the veranda overlooking the beach. I miss watching her carefully and skillfully eating the bangus...always starting from the heart of the bangus and working her way out to the edges.

I miss watching her eat with a fork and a spoon...making sure that she has just the right amount of rice and bangus on the spoon before she eats it. I miss watching her make the sauce for the bangus...fresh-squeezed calamansi juice, soy sauce, and spicy vinegar...yum.

In exactly seven days, we will be together again...malapit na! This time it will be habang buhay!

even if you froze it, there's also that possibility of getting spoil... but who knows...

though im not sure if you can bring that much of a liquid even if its a check-in/balikbayan box...

its weird, coz i prefer the fresh milk in the PI. i could drink 2 glass of them in a day hehe... but gosh i dont like the milk here in the US... we'll that's a bit harsh for me sorry. i guess i could say i prefer the phil milk... it doesnt taste that bad. my hubby (USC) doesnt mind at all or at least never commented it for one bit... i am not a cereal person but i just love raisin bran and guess what? i use cold EVAPORATED milk (yes the one in the can)... weird but its true... and my hubby thinks im the only one who eats chocolate rice (champorado) and keep reminding him its one of our fave snacks in phil...

well good luck to you! and i guess a little bit of sacrifice in phil w/ out the milk he likes wouldnt be that bad. lol...

Maybe the op has a legit reason for wanting to bring refrigerated fresh milk along because I have never seen any in the Phils. Or maybe I just didn't look hard enough?

The only 'fresh' milk I've seen in the supermarkets (Rustans, Shoemart, Shopwise) is ultra pasteurized, packaged in Tetra paks and is not refrigerated when sold. All of it is imported from Australia/ New Zealand. Good luck finding any in the provinces...

if you want a real fresh milk - there are dairy farms there that sell fresh milk - as in directly from the cow..u need to boil it first though :) I think u can find Nestle Fresh milk....I prefer bear brand than the milk here in USA. I dont like drinking cold milk in the morning. Gusto ko mainit na bear brand :)

Good luck with your milk adventure.

This topic reminds me of 40 years ago when I was a young US airman at John Hay in Baguio. The Air Force didn't stock fresh milk in the commissary. They had this reconstituted stuff which tasted awful. We drank iced tea and beer as a result. We were warned not to buy fresh dairy products on the local economy because they were not tested or pasteurized. We still had cravings though, and we would buy fresh ice cream at a place on upper Session road. Ummm! I can still remember how good that tasted! Especially the papaya and mango :D
