Im glad that this place exists. At least now I know that we are not alone. I am Mexican American born and raised here in the states. My hubby is British born and raised in London and is of Pakistani and Afghani decent. Like many others we found eachother online one day and fell in love and now we are here trying to figure things out. We have had crazy times even encouters with the FBI.

Our Story:

On April 16, 2003 Adiel and I met online and we instantly started going at each other with little sarcastic remarks. Adiel stole my heart from the get go. The rest of the year was spent sending daily emails, exchanging pictures, talking on the phone for hours, chatting on yahoo, and eventually I convinced him to get a web cam. Within minutes of meeting him online and seeing his profile picture I mentioned to him jokingly "OMG our kids are going to have really big noses" Its' so funny that I even said that because he was a perfect stranger and I did not even know if I would chat to him for the next 5 min let alone the next day. I suppose we had such a nice time giving each other sarcastic comments that we ended up on each others buddy list. I remember telling him that I'd been to London and that I wasn't impressed and he responded with such a cocky attitude," that's only because you didn’t meet me". He instantly got on my right nerve, I was thinking oh yeah right as if one guy is going to make me change my mind completely over an entire city. We ended up on each others buddy list and things started picking up from there. To make the long story short this was Adiel’s yahoo profile before we met:

Eventually feelings started growing and Adiel was trying to fight off falling in love with some "internet girl" on the other side of the world. After some months Adiel tried to test me out possibly to have an excuse to shake me off. He then executed one of his many pranks and he told me that he was in a wheel chair, and then he told me he had no arms, and the list goes on and on. When none of this seemed to work he tried his last card which he claims always worked on the rest of his victims. He told me that his name was not Adiel, that it was actually Mark and he went as far as telling me that all the pictures he had sent me were not really of him. Adiel then went for the kill and he sent me a picture of a very nerdy looking guy with bifocals, pimples, parted hair and yellow teeth. He thought for sure that that would do the trick. BUT HE GOT PROVEN WRONG. I tore up all the pictures I had printed of "Adiel” and told the alleged "Mark" that it was ok, I liked him for his personality and for how we got along and so on. Then Adiel was sorry. From here on feelings started growing and eventually Adiel had to confess that he really was "Adiel and NOT Mark". We thought it was weird that people could actually fall in love over the internet but it happens. A few months down the line we were already talking marriage even before meeting in person. Some where along all this I knew he was the man I was going to marry.

Sept 15, 2004 Mireya packs her bags and while her parents think that she is in another city in her dorm studying her brains off. This is a perfect opportunity for me to sneak off to Europe to meet Adiel during the middle of my school semester. LOL

Sept 16, 2004 Mireya and Adiel meet in person for the first time in the airport. Our Chemistry was just like on the phone just 100% better because now we were face to face after a year having met online.

Sept 2004 We go to Greece together.

Oct 2, 2004 We return to London dreading my departure date.

Oct 5, 2004 Mireya returns to the Texas crying. I did not want to leave him but I had to because I was finishing my last semester in university plus my parents had no clue where I was. Every moment with him was cherished.

Dec 13, 2004 Adiel flies to Houston

Dec 31, 2004 We bring in the New years with a bang and we got married. We had or civil and nikka ceremony. Our plan was for Adiel to return to UK and both save up to have a traditional catholic wedding in the states latter that year, and move back to the uk eventualy after we got married.

Jan 6 2005 Adiel returns to London. =0(

Sept 2005 Adiel's visit to Texas gets canceled because hurricane Rita is supposed to land in Houston the same day as his flight. We both lose our approved vacation and can't change it. Due to me starting a new job and a few other hardships we were not able to meet for the rest of the year. On Feb 12, 2006 Adiel returns to Texas to be with me for Valentines and is detained in Houston upon landing. He is then questioned by immigration and FBI officials. FBI also approaches me at the IAH airport and I’m surrounded by 6 men and questioned by FBI also. After all the drilling, they leave and 5 hours latter of being detained an officer comes out again and meets me in the terminal. He then tells me that he won’t be letting Adiel in. Adiel is a British citizen but is not allowed to enter the country even for a visit after immigration found out that he has a USC wife. Adiel is cuffed, and put in confinement. I tried to get a lawyer but every time I am denied. He is told that he is not allowed to a lawyer. He spends one night in some airport jail and the next day he is excluded, deported or removed we still don’t know which one of them to call it as they all mean the same thing.

March 2006 We get advice from a few immigration places. Even though the plan was to live in the UK, we are now forced to file for Adiel because he can't even come in the country for us to have our Catholic wedding. My family cant' travel so wedding has to be here.

April 2006- We decided it's best to get help from a lawyer to help with the petition process as Adiel is going to require a waiver. We gathered the lawyer fees and all paper work that the lawyer has asked for to start the K3 process and waiver I-120

May 23, 2006 I -130 was sent to Mesquite Texas.

May 26, 2006 Mireya is stressing out and falling apart. Finally we were both able to meet for a long over due reunion. Mireya flies to meet Hubby in London after a year and a half of hell.

June 2, 2006 Mireya and Adiel go on Holiday to Portugal and have a blast.

June 8, 2006 We return to UK

June 12. 2006 Unwillingly Mireya returns to Texas and we are still waiting to for a reply. I’m going crazy and we are just begening the process. I have been reading through some of the forums.....can any one tell me who will be needing the vaccination records both or us or just him when he goes to his interview? Also if any one is from London how long does it take to get your plice report? Adiel applied for it weeks ago and still no report in the post. Is there any other British citizens who have tried to enter the states after they got married? Adiel was not allowed in after he got married to me, where as before he was in and out with no problems. Was his passport says denied. Since he was cuffed and spent the night in an airport jail does this mean he was deported, removed or excluded?

Wow, you guys have been through a lot!

I don't have any advice for you with regards to your situation. But I'm sure someone will come along to answer some of your questions.

Hi Welcome to VJ... You've been through quite a bit, however I do know that it is normal for foreign spouses/fiances to be denied at the Port of Entry because they are married to a USC. They don't believe that the foreign spouse/fiance will leave because they are married... this is normal... I wish you good luck in your journey... There are plenty of others here that can help you find out how long it'll take for the police certificate in the UK.
