I've been working in Qatar for the past 18 months. I plan to DCF and I am able to sponsor my husband by myself. My income is above 125% poverty limit. I have an Arizona driver's licence, voter's registration, US bank account, and I requested tax transcripts and W2s from 2007, 2006, 2005. Problem is i have my permanent address at my friends house in Az. She recently decided she wants to take a traveling job, so now she's renting the house. We both changed our mailing address at another friend's house in Texas. I've noticed that form DS-230 is asking

( Question nr. 10 ) the beneficiary where he intends to live /permanent address when he arrives in US, and for the phone nr. I'm not sure if i can use her address DCF anymore . what do you guys think ?

Well, from how I understand it, the most important thing is for you to use an address of someone that you trust. That person needs to be responsible for forwarding any mail you get there (as soon as it arrives) and since they ask for a phone number, answering any phone calls you might get. I'm by no means an expert on DCF as I haven't even filed myself! But when I filed K-1, they never called my house. I did receive mail at my US address (it was my parents house) and they forwarded it on to me in London the same day they received it. They also scanned it and emailed me copies of what I got in the mail so that if it was something I needed to deal with immediately, I would have it and not have to wait the 2 weeks (ish) it took the mail to get to me in London.

However, as I understand DCF, I doubt there will be much mail or phone calls. When you file DCF they know that you are living abroad and not in the US...so why would they send you any mail??? However, to be on the same side, I would make sure the address I put as my address in the states is of someone that I trust to forward me any mail (just in case) and to not lose anything!

Good luck and hopefully someone who has gone through DCF already can answer that question!

Question 10 asks IF KNOWN put the permanent address, at this point you dont know so put UNKNOWN and put the address of the friends house in TX and their phone number as the address to send the greencard to. As Marina-Del stated make sure its someone that knows your situation and you can trust them!

You should be fine using the TX address. You won't get any mail there before the visa is activated anyways. Just use that address, and once you get to the US immediately change your address with immigration so they know where to send the green card. You can also not choose the option to automatically have the SSN issued, just in case you don't get the change of address submitted in time.
