I almost think your situation sucks more then mine Marm, being told you have it then just having to do more waiting....

Mara, been reading up on your progress for a while...I hope that you get everything resolved ASAP! As for us, well my fiance is still waiting for the visa as I said before. He is not in AP or AR...it's just that we have had to deal with two different bureaucracies this whole time (read time-line in "About Me" section of profile for details). It is just frustrating that we look forward to getting the visa in hand every day and nothing as of yet...the embassy has his passport and DOS keeps telling us that it is going to be printed soon, and that it is not in any sort of checks...whatever that means, we look forward to good news by the end of this week or next week, if not this week...still waiting....

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Stay calm, everything is fine.

You're not supposed to send documents with the checklist, so whoever told you that at the London Consulate told you wrong or misunderstood. You're only supposed to send the checklist which lets them know you're ready for an interview.

I should tell you now it takes a while for them to get back to you. It took about 5 weeks for me, I believe - as it takes a few weeks to put in the system and then a couple of weeks to send you the last notice/package with your interview date. So you're still within the waiting time, you should get your date shortly.

While you wait, re-gather documents! Did you send the originals? If so, you need to get yourself some more because they'll want to see originals and copies at the interview, work on getting all the documents needed. It tells you here in the Guides.

***

We applied for a marriage license yesterday and I froze when asked what my name will be after marriage. To be honest, I hadn't thought much about whether I would change my name. They said when I pick up the license on Thursday, I can let them know my decision.

I got my SSN yesterday (finally!) so I can start adding my name to accounts, getting a library card, apply for a drivers permit, etc. We're also making an appointment for my HPV vaccine in RI next week - then we're going to get a civil surgeon sign off on my stuff and get some of the paperwork ready for AOS. That way, we can focus on planning a ceremony.

I'm happy to see progress with people here. :)

5 weekss?? :(.. well my fiance called..t hey said it takes about 2 weeks..and he shld receive it this week..if not call next week. So hopefully, it is not 5 weeks. Well i have another question..u said it took u 5 weeks from u sending the checklist till u received a interview notice. how many weeks or days was it all together from checklist send till interview date??? Another month from the 5 weeks? thanks

Yup! That's out of pocket! There were some information that wasn't adequate for the civil surgeon. Like the HIV test wasnt on the medical, the TB results. It was all ###### up! but oh wellz, after this we don't have to deal with immigration for a while.

OK..so i checked the NOA2 letter i received...it says my approval is valid from jan 21 to may 21 2009. I am freaking out now...wut does that mean??? we havn't received our police certificate yet so we didn't send in our checklist till jun 26 and thats becoz the embassy kept telling us we had to send in all the documents!!! And his approval notice or packet 3 did not say nething about a validity..it just told him to get all the stuff together and send in the documents....what should i do?? I'm going to call them up in the morning..i wish they were open now..toolate..or is it too early..ahhhh... :crying:

Hey everyone! Fred, i am really happy that you got your paperworks done now. For us, we are still taking it slowly. I am no longer in a rush. But looks like we will be able to submit our AOS papers in August or September. I am avoiding the Xmas rush. Gosh, time flies.

Dani: We are planning to go to the Irish Festival in Dublin, OH. This year, it is end of July til August 2. Let me know if you guys can go. I will PM you my cell number. I can't wait to talk to you and see you!!!

Miss you all guys! Tata - MIL, dear daughter and I are off to corn-picking for today and some grocery shopping. :)

Hi Candy! Is that the one in Eminence you're talking about? The Renaissance Festival?
