It really is amazing to see (most) people with countdowns until the big move considering last year we were all moaning about how sad we were. :) I feel proud that we've all managed to do this (and you will, Mara).

Hi again all! Just wanted to give a quick update. I went to Japan this past week, and on Friday, my fiancee and I came back to the states together :) We will be getting married this Friday!

Now time to start figuring out what we need to get together for her AoS and to get advance parole ... hopefully she can be eligible to travel outside the US by mid-September!

I think the AP is taking about 2 - 2 1/2 months, so you should be fine for september so long as you get that AOS filed reasonably quickly. Actually using the AP documents to re-enter the country is something you should read up on before doing it, the documents contain some wording that basically says they are not the same as a visa and you must still be elligible for entry, I'm sure it's just legal jargon and probably means that if your AOS is denied you might not get back into the country, but it still strikes me as a little scary and I think I've read more than one story where people had some kinds of issues using AP to re-enter (I don't remember the stories well but I think they ended up just being a huge hassle, and not something that lead to being denied entry or anything like that). That being said read up on it, you may need to take extra documentation with you to insure you don't hit some kind of snag. An airport is one of the most stressful places to get bad news...
