After seeing 3 people and being progressively passed up the ranked he finally had an interview with the Chief of Staff of USCIS, who proceeded to tell him that he had no idea what was up with our case, nor what was happening. But he did tell us (and this I like) that it was rubbish that we didn't know anything and that its really not fair that we know nothing. So he proceeded to give Chris his number and email (and his assistants as well) and let him know that he would look into our case and that we should have our NOA2 (be it approved or denied) by the end of the week. I really hope its true, but I ain't getting my hopes up about it, I will believe it when I am holding that piece of paper in my hands.

That's good news no matter how you slice it, true once the guy finds out more information you might find you're stuck in some security thing again, but I have a feeling things will finally get taken care of one way or another, and you'll at least get to move on to the NVC step. Hopefully once you finally are together you'll be as happy with the results as I am, there is nothing easy about the k-1 process and you've certainly had it harder than the bulk of us august filers, and probably more than most other k-1's

A degree is probably fine in your case gemmie, but I'd recommend getting your school transcripts printed out, a lot of times foreign degrees aren't recognized or considered equivalent with an american degree, the transcripts may be necessary if you have to try to get your school credit transfered here/reviewed for whatever reason, I highly recommend you get them, though I'm sure most western countries are fine the way they are, it probably applies more towards poorer non-westernized countries... in your case I'm sure you can readily get any documents you find you need later through your family though. (Wrote this before reading the whole thread... mara already covered this too haha).

Fred: I told ya... everything went fast until we got close to time to go and then molasis... but, as a plus, the last few days went by fairly fast... though I think that was partially because I was so swamped at work with deadlines to meet before I went on my trip...

King of the page... I demand mara's NOA2... also... I demand the weather stop sucking so much in missouri!

HYENA: I think first she needs to find out for how long are the certificates good in Tahiland, cause for example in my husband's country the police certif. is only good for 2 months!.

Take care my grasshopereating friend!

Called NVC and got my notice dated May 4 but when I called (strange) they said they already sent it out to Bangkok on May 1...so I'm assuming they sent it the same day they got it ;) Progress!

Now I need to know if I should tell her to got get her police report, single certification, etc...I think so!!!

As far as this bank officer stuff, I dunno about all that since one of my banks is Schwab cause of their free worldwide atm fees and no riopff exchange rates but i can't exactly walk in and ask them for any certified statement from a "bank officer" (what the liars office says to do) to prove my account info, etc.

I'll have to see what they say or send what i can but i don't wanna delay

The wife's AP document showed up today... so we went online to check if the case numbers from AP and EAD would finally show up online (the AOS stuff is not very consistant in this regard) and both numbers worked finally... the AP was approved on the 7th and took a week to get to us... the EAD was approved on the 13th... so probably next thursday she'll have work authorization in hand. Time to get more seroius about the references for her resume and start hunting for jobs!

So Chris went to an appointment today at USCIS to find out why we once again have no NOA1.....

After seeing 3 people and being progressively passed up the ranked he finally had an interview with the Chief of Staff of USCIS, who proceeded to tell him that he had no idea what was up with our case, nor what was happening. Good luck! I hope you'll really get it this time. :star:

we're planing for a wedding in august so our AOS will probably start end of august

Same here!

As for .. everything else, it's been really busy here. I'm killing myself with regular work and, well, schoolwork as well. Yesterday I finally announced our plans to my boss and others and, surprisingly, so far they've been very supportive (by letting me use vacation days and such to prepare for exams and whatnot).

Either way.. so much work.

Same as us! I'm the psychologist, fiance is the IT consultant. :D Though I'm not actually allowed to call myself a "psychologist" until I get accredited, but you know what I mean.

Congrats on the AP and probably EAD, Maliciant and wife! I can't believe how fast you've flown through this process!!

Haha Dani, I hope you like it!!!!

For me I think the hardest part at times is how different food is, driving on the wrong side of the road/car and the odd word that in Australia means something totally different.

For the most bit however I have found people here have been really friendly to me and "love my accent" and want to hear more about where I am from :)

They don't really care about where you are from, they are just making you talk so they can hear more of your accent!!!

I think generally foreigners are treated well here by people you actually meet, it just doesn't make much sense for someone to go out of their way to cause trouble without a reason, being a foreigner generally will make you at least a little more interesting to most people anyway. Where a person might hit trouble is if they might vaguely resemble an illegal alien (which in the US really just means, someone who looks like they might be from mexico... and since we're kind of retarded, that really just boils down to, having tan skin... yep... I believe my wife has been mistaken for being hispanic at least a time or two already, though only at a distance). The other problem is of course, sometimes people get in an uproar about terrorists, which of course look like hispanics to us, so well, if you are somewhere between black and white, you might have to deal with a little extra ignorance now and then when you get mistaken for an illegal alien, a terrorist, or something along those lines... This whole paragraph is a slight exageration sometimes... and sometimes (ie right after 9-11) it's an understatement.
