I have not submitted my documents for AOS just yet. I just got my I693 supplement though and I only paid $25.00/pax on it. So I am very happy. On top of that, dear daughter got all her shots for free at her pedia as it had been applied to insurance. We just recently gathered enough money for the filing fee and I am beginning to be able to breath better. My hubby's pay is just enough to break even and we don't even have a house yet! We are living with the in-laws (waving to Gemmie) too and it's really hard on me as I am so used to having my own turf. But, I believe it will all be better soon and I can't wait to get my hands on that employment card! The employment here in KY is a little bleak but I am keeping a positive mind.

Mara: Did the judge give any timeline as to when you get to hear from them?

Marm, hold on there , it will be over soon. Our Heavenly Father knows the situation,

Hyena , don't stress so much on the job issue. It will come in God's timing, keep looking and have a positive outlook . All will be well.

Gemmie , I dont think it will cause a problem. I sent my paper's 2 days before my i-94 expired , with a a wrong month on the check, the paperwork was returned to us, we sent the paperwork a week after that , all went smooth- I didn't have an interview. I understand what you mean by wanting to do something but I think at this point i take a day at time, ive left it all in God's hand and i keep myself busy( reading books - that gives me a lot of encouragement. I thank God im here and i know His will , will be done . I take a day at a time and thank Him for His blessings.

Mara....... Hope you hear some good news soon , Your are in my prayers.

Fred Congrats on your progress, so far

CuchitaIts not an easy path, we will get there, someday.

To all other August filers, I want you to know there is always a way. It may not be easy; it may not be convinient; it may not come quickly. You may have to go over , under, around or through. But if we simply keep on keeping on and refuse to be discouraged, doubtful or distracted , we will find a way

Have a Blessed day.

Ahhh how God answers prayers before they're prayed!

You're gonna LOVE this! I'm living in a house I bought with my EX GF! We've been split for a couple years BUT are stuck knee deep in a lawsuit (company tore the entire house down when they were supposed to add an office space (no kidding tore the entire house to the dirt)!, we had to pay to rebuild it so we paid twice and the market crashed so we're house heavy with life savings stuck into this payment pig!

I actually looked at single and double wides yesterday! I can't bring myself to but it's an option...35k and it's done!

I'll likely move 2 hours north and force auction on this house to see if I can pull something out of it (ex gf thinks she can pay $3100/mo (not including the rape and pillage of $400/mo electric) on 16k salary a year! LOL! Ohhhh was she evil...a horrible drunk I've prayed dead many times over (said she loved my kids...ended up being a kid hater extraordinaire)! I no longer trust my own judgment because of that mistake....but here I am in an awkward life full of stress at the end of my rope wishing I was dangling by it!

Thanks everyone for your help.

My SSN card has been reissued (unless they lied on the phone, which of course might be a chance) and should be here next week. Then we'll start with the AOS and hopefully do it right.

My alien number, however, isn't anywhere on my visa - the annotation field says nothing, whereas my little brother had other things written there ("Going to sister's wedding in XXXXXX"). So the only A-looking number is the 9-digit one on our NOA2.

Hyena: Good luck with that job!, it is crazy how many people are not giving a damn anymore and leave their homes for foreclosure, is that an option for you?, or if you file bankrupcy will that affect you soon to be wife's Adjustment of status?.

I'm not late on any payments....it's got half the equity it did 2 years ago but I don't care!

Sooooo jobwise they called me and said "Come in and take your physical Friday"!!!!!!!!!!!!! (yeah uhuh; yeah yeah uhuh....yeah uhuh; yeah yah uhuh!)! ->doing the stir the cauldron dance! :dancing::dance: WOHOOOOOO! :jest:

The pay is nice, the benefits are killer but it's 2 hours from me. Do I care? Neau wayyyy deude!

I bought this house with my EX gf (kid hater :secret:...she said she didn't drink, loved kids then I buy a house with her and the next week like a sick joke she despises my kids and is ON the bottle every day staggering drunk). Typical black widow..shes in such a rush she's remarried already (4th one). Who cares?

I'm moving out then filing a force sale with the court to put it out for auction (Gotta wait till I go or she'll be dangerous). She's been trying to nice nice a Title scam (take me off, put him on, refi) but I'm not stoopid! No money, no happen! I saw a pattern of her other ex's and turned from a maybe to a NO on marriage years ago when I realized this is her MO.

We're stuck in a huge lawsuit from a construction company that was supposed to do an addition, tore it all down and kept tens of thousands and ran...so it's paid for twice (big Mtg now) but I can't let my life sit here any more till the market turns back up...I gotta move on with my life and start having fun with my kids and wife!

I'm gonna file to force auction; no more nice guy (been stomped on like you would NOT believe--all my own fault though cause of BAD judgment).

New job has 100% education benefits so I'm not stopping school 'till I'm God's right hand man! I FINALLY realized education and ummm education :wow: is the only way to secure the money. :bonk: Self employed was great but when the carpet us pulled, no one is there to help.

You can check your I94 for your A number, hun. The immigrations offic usually assign you one when you get to POE without it. Just check. :)

HYENA: Thanks for sharing your experiences with me. I sure am beginning to wallow in self-pity. I am just not used to it. I felt so selfish having to sacrifice my career and good job in the Philippines, and the family that depends on me - for a life, starting over here in th US and barely even making it and my folks back at home, having a hard time since I am no longer around to help out. It bothers me a lot. I am hoping it will get better soon.

Mara: I don't blame you for thinking K3 now. That might be faster!

I hear ya, HD.

I love my in-laws dearly, but we've been living together for a good few months now and I just can't wait to move out into our own place. Like you, I am used to my own turf (I lived with 2 fabulous girls in England that gave me my independence). I find it hard struggling to save up and grabbing pennies together for AOS and having everything wiped out, having to start again for our apartment, never quite having enough. My husband has been job-hunting again for more income but nothing has come up. Still, like you said about feeling selfish, my best friend just told me how she's about $5000 in debt as she's been out of work and is moving to college... she doesn't even have enough for cutlery! That really put it into perspective too.

Badgerella - I think there's an example in the forms in the Guides for where your A# is and what it should look like. I think it's on the bottom line of the visa... as someone else said, try checking your 194 to see if they put it on there. If you're really stuck, I think it's the same number on your NOA2 (mine is the same if I remember correctly). As a last resort, make an infopass appointment to get it confirmed.

Hyena - Good luck with the job, things sound like they're manic for you and your wife right now with that situation.

Mara - I can see why you're starting to re-think the K1, I think I would've given up the strength so long ago. I don't know how you do it. Perhaps if you don't hear anything from the lawyer soon about the repercussions for USCIS, it will be the best option (check out the rules for the CR-1 as I believe a K3 takes about a year).

I seriously do not have an A number anywhere on my visa or I-94. There's something starting with an A on the NOA2, but that one starts with a 0 and has a digit too many.

I'll probably contact the Embassy in Zagreb to see if they can help me. If they can't (which actually might happen because they'er pretty much done dealing with me, since I am now in the US and all), then I have no idea who I would contact....

Oh my!! great news! you got then job that deserves buying a bottle of champaign and getting drunk with your lady!. Enjoy!. And btw what is it that you are going to do there? cause you were always in sales.

What do I do? Drug treatment and alcohol treatment center....government :-) Yeah I was selling and importing but the economy and closed businesses dried all that up and now Thailand prices are often higher than what you see in the US now. I've always been an interventionist...just looking for the "right" job. I'm just looking forward to the next peaceful piece of my life!

(sorry for my rapid posts; just excited...been looking for a job for months and the "right one" jumped up...beat 49 others for it if it sticks)! Forgive me but I'm beside myself....
