That's so sad that that's the way they treat their citizens here. it's kind of morbid that we will all be part of the rotten system.

If his last name was stripes... or caine... or land... or capped? (The last one is a slight stretch, but just imagine that you got married and it made you candy capped? You'd have to explain to everyone you meet that you were candy capped in a horrible marriage accident...). My wife's name is cherry so there is a lot of room for funny names there too (but my last name isn't tree... really... it's pretty hard to come up with a good way to mock my last name... down side is names with 8 or more letters mock you every time you have to write them).

Howdy all...quick note before we head off on Monday.

We're going to go to Bodega Bay in CA (home of the The Birds) and stay in a beach house for the week and get married there on that beach. Dad is on his way from Branson and the rest of the group will be the there soon. Just our grown kids, parents, siblings and my two best friends. His family isn't able to afford the trip right now so that's a bummer. Will be making DVD's for them for sure.

Will post piks when we get back.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Sounds as though it will be magical !!!!!

Fred 'n Emilia You may not get SSN's for the children. When I applied for my SSN my son was denied as he is not of work age so doesnt qualify for one. However, when it comes to filing taxes I will need to get a tax number for him so we can claim for him. Things may be different in your State, but if they arent, thats whats required.

Good luck

We are now married!!

Everything went well.. it was a nightmare at first trying to find somewhere to do the ceremony as all parks were fully booked for labour day weekend and my visa expires next week. So we had one day, picked up lots of decorations, flowers, etc and made the deck in the back yard look really pretty. The ceremony itself lasted all of 3 minutes and I was a nervous wreck! My dad and best friend were listening on speaker-phone which was nice (my dad cried and my best friend was so excited). Then we went to a nice italian place to eat... and then went off on our mini-honeymoon. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous.. they upgraded us to an executive suite just because we got married! We had a jacuzzi in our room, along with 2 huge TVs, a king-size bed, a living room, etc.. we didn't want to come home.

Pics to come tomorrow.

We're finalising the AOS documents and sending them within the next 2 days.

Congrats!!!

We haven't gotten married yet...still looking for a JOB! I drove 2 hours to an interview today...if I get the job, I don't care how much I gotta drive! Then we can get married since money is tight. I did buy some gold over there which will come in handy when it gets down to it as a reserve (lucky I started thinking like an Asian about that gold when I met her)...always have rainy day gold saved up (never cash since cash depreciates, gold never will)

I'm praying for this job...fed government and I'm up against 50 others but they said they liked me and told me to get started on their new gestapo interrogation system....about 8 hours of verifying your life since high school..every class, supervisor and coworker references for EVERY job in 20 years (my profession moves a lot), phone, addresses, old and new licences, states, military and college transcripts for every class...anything and everything...my life documented and verified for the past 20 years! I'll keep a copy since it will have soooo much info in it! It will take about 8 more hours to finish it. Last time I had this job it took an hour on paper...this new system is overwhelming!

The good side....but the houses up there are 1/2 the price herem I like Amish country and I'm sure the pay isn't 1/2 here so it's looking good!

Praying on beating 50 other competitor applicants...got a good feeling about it tho!

I bet you made a stunningly perfect little bride!

I'm thinking about the out back wedding...either that or the court house then do the ceremony once we save a bit. I've never been without a job in my entire life! This is not boding well on me, my sleep and likely her perception of my sanity! I just can't settle down...constantly skimming the internet obesssing for a jobbbbbbb!
