I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right section.

My fiance and I are currently waiting for our noa2. I'm hoping (with no AP or RFE's) that he may have his interview in Delhi around May. We received our Noa1 on December 5th.

I'm not sure if these things will help us move faster... but we are both young, 25 & 26, neither of us have been married before, no criminal record or previous visa applications. So if we get Noa2 in the next few weeks.. have an interview in May.. and he comes to NY in June.... my questions are:

1. Am I being realistic with these timelines? I know there is no guarantee and things can always get held up, but I can't help plan stuff in my head.

2. My real question is this... I found a really good flight from NYC to Istanbul (under $300 roundtrip per person inc taxes, on iberia). I have booked a ticket for my fiance and I in November (hopefully for our honeymoon). I have 48 hours before I have to confirm and pay. Is this a crazy idea?

I have not done my research about advanced parole.. would a honeymoon even be considered for this? Is it a hard process, are our timelines cutting it too close?

3. If I do take the "chance" and purchase, should I include this as evidence at the interview.. or will they think I am crazy for booking something before I know if it is possible?

4. I'm guessing we would still be waiting for aos in november, would he need to get a visa from india or from US to go to Turkey, oh geez, i'm getting overwhelmed.

Any, absolutely any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you!

1) USCIS can take up to 6 months NOA1 to NOA2, so NOA2 may be June or July. Your estimates are TOO optimistic.

200+ days filing to interview is a better estimate.

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...ia&dfile=No

2) Never plan anything around an anticipated successful visa interview, anything can happen that can cost you $$$.

3) It's a risk, and tends to not make much difference on approval of the visa.

4) Once a K-1 enters the USA they need to marry and apply for AOS, and AP, they cannot leave the USA until they have AP doc, or Green-card, this can take 90 days or longer to get. Best to visit other country BEFORE entering the USA on the K-1 visa.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

None of the conditions you state will speed up or slow down your petition.

1. Put your timeline into the VJ magical time line calculator. It is the best in the world. If your calculations fall into line with VJs then I would say you are very realistic.

2. If you are not concerned about the very real possibility of losing all the money you spend, then it is not crazy. Otherwise, making any kind of plans without the needed documents in hand is crazy.

3. I do not think it would matter for the interview.

4. Yes. The AOS will not affect that. He will still be an Indian Citizen and until he becomes a US citizen he will still need to get whatever visas he would need otherwise. The green card will work wonders for getting him back to the USA, but has no affect on entering other countries EXCEPT Canada, Mexico and Carribean Islands. My wife travels to Canada 2-3 times per week with just her green card, no problems at all. (we live 5 minutes drive from the border)

The green card will (possibly) speed up or make possible visas he could not get before. For example we will take a trip this spring/summer to Ukraine and Italy. Alla will need a visa for Italy. It was impossible for her to get a tourist visa to Italy prior to this, but now (we are told) it will be a matter of filing some papers and paying the fee. We will see. The green card is a powerful tool in getting visas as it relieves the other country of any concerns she will come and not leave.

VERMONT! I Reject Your Reality...and Substitute My Own!
