Hello all;

I never received package 3, I received an e-mail with an attachment. The interview letter. Yippeeeeeeeeee!!! I had mailed my DS-230 , back in November, had made a small mistake and mailed back to them with corrected mistake December 22, 2008. I sure hope , they didn't make any mistake and forgot to send package 3. I already got the medical back in October 29, 2008.My date is April 22. 8:30 am. I book my hotel, I got it cheap. Holiday Inn Express, $69.00 per night. I don't know how far I am from the Consulate. Is the Consulate at 1155 Rue St-Alexandre? What time am I suppose to be at the door? Does anyone know how far, the Bus Station ,address at 505 de Maisonneuve East, from Holiday Inn address 155 Rene Levesgue? I am bringing everything. I will get more photos done two weeks before leaving. Where does the photo go? I mean , where do I put them? It says on the letter of apointment DS-230-1, DS-230-11, (Yes/ Document completed /reviewed). I do have more of them,with me. Would someone please pray for me, because I am so nervous. When I am nervous I make mistake. My husband is very happy, he had almost given up hope of ever seeing me again. I printed the letter of appoinment and didn't have color ink, only black. Is that ok? And I don't like big cities at all. I do speak french. Any advise would be appreciated.

Marie.

mapquest can tell you how far and give u directions! As a CR-1 you are all paid up (answerign ur question inthe other email) congrtas

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Congrats! We just started the process with an appt at the Ottawa Embassy the first week of Feb and got our Packet 3 last week. The bus station should be a quick wlk to the hotel. As for the consulate, I just saw a link to this which has lots of great info! Good luck!

Be at the door (which is on the side of the building) no later then 7:00 a.m. The door opens at 7:30 a.m. and the first in line is the first served. I got there at 6:50 a.m. and there was already 3 ahead of me. Have your appointment letter and passport ready outside to show security. Take some change with you as there are some vending machines in the waiting area if you want a coffee or something. Good luck!
