I see its a joke - but a pretty stupid one. People *did* die at Abu Ghraib - there are a number of documented cases.

Love these compare the rotten politicians with other rotten politicians arguments. Did it ever occur to you that they are all rotten?

I'm not sure how that ties into what I wrote - but of course.

I'm not going to defend Kennedy as I honestly don't know too much about the incident in question - but from an outsiders perspective - its a pretty ridiculous comparison.

Chappaquiddick

The file known as Chappaquiddick, is also know known the Mary Jo Kopechne investigation. This investigation was opened when an overturned car was found at Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, in the water and Ms. Kopechne's body was in the car. Ms. Kopechne was a former secretary to late Senator, Robert F. Kennedy. It was determined the driver of the automobile was Senator Edward M. Kennedy. It was alleged he was on the wrong road and drove off Dike's Bridge, with the automobile overturning in the water. Senator Kennedy managed to get out of the car, but Ms. Kopechne did not make it out of the car and drowned.

I can't find one documented death resulting from abuse at Abu Ghraib.

Interesting. Of course that makes the punchline of that joke rather less "punchy", though I can't help but think that the folks behind it knew about the incident and decided to make the comparison anyway. Bizarre.

Communist sympathizer. *Everyone* knows that Abu Ghraib is/was full of America haters so that makes it work it. [/off]

He was taking her home after some kind of party, supposingly they were drunk, rather than driving over a bridge, somehow tried to drive around it and ended up in a river. Somehow he got out, she drowned. Permanently ruin his chances to run for president. It's an iffy story to say the least, not like he grabbed a gun and shot her.

If there is any kind of moral to this story, if at a party, and a person needs a lift, call a cab. Republicans had a field day with the incident. Could be just an accident, but no way to prove it either way.

Yet for soreloseritis its as good as a ruptured appendix to go after.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

There was no question it was an accident. It was his handling of the sitiation immediately after it happened.

Well Yeah... Generally when "you make it out" of the sinking car, you report the emergency.

Did Kennedy do this?

Strangely Chappaquiddick has absolutely nothing to do with Limbaugh's rather mild (for him) comment about Kennedy.

What I'm wondering though is whether any insult at Kennedy can be justified or defended by wheeling out Chappaquiddick.

Strange reasoning.

On balance this is on the milder side of the things that Rush says. But seriously, why do people insist on giving him attention?

He has a few fans,I don't know why but he does.

I think the same thing about Ted Kennedy. Frankly, I won't be sad when Ted's dead. I've hated him since Chappaquidick, and I hate very few people.

BTW, that's not hate speak. It's non-PC speak.

You are probably correct. I don't think Stern has the numbers he had before he went to satellite. I think him and Rush are douche bags. Anyone who hopes the President fails should be shot and deported.

I hope the president fails, too. He's bad for the country. Come by and shoot me.

Let's give credit where credit is due. While Rush Limbaugh may be a hypocritical, fact-challenged, morbidly obese, drug-addicted blowhard, he's laughing all the way to the bank because there are enough willfully ignorant people out there who take his act seriously...and he knows it.

I like this so much that I want to say that Barry Obama may be a skinny, hypocritical, policy-challenged, drug-addicted blowhard, he's laughing at all the willfully ignorant people who voted for him, still take his act seriously, and are still painfully clueless . . . and he knows it.

You are probably correct. I don't think Stern has the numbers he had before he went to satellite. I think him and Rush are douche bags. Anyone who hopes the President fails should be shot and deported.

Does that go for all Presidents or just this one?

I think a lot of folks would have been Shot during the last 8 years.

Any President. I didn't care for Bush but I most certainly never wished for him nor any other to fail. Why would anyone want their country to fail?

What makes you think that the president equals the country?

Kennedy and Limbaugh are both big fat bags of hot air, but Limbaugh hasn't personally killed anyone that I know of, so that puts him a couple notches above Uncle Teddy.

But Bush fried a lot of people in the electric chair.

Yea, that was a good start :)

No, he didn't. He walked away and went to sleep. He was a self-centered jerk then, as he is now. I won't be sending flowers.
