I am a Canadian citizen married to a US Citizen, both residing in Canada (my wife has Canadian PR). We have decided to move to the US to be closer to her family as we plan to start our own soon.

We have completed our I-130 and various attachments, and thanks to information found on this site, are ready to approach the Calgary consulate to initiate the process.

We do have one small oddity in our situation, which we hope will not cause us any grief - we have been married to each other twice, without an interim divorce. When she first arrived in Canada, we married by small civil service here in Calgary prior to applying for her Canadian PR. More recently, we were married in Las Vegas - this service included family and friends and a "proper" church ceremony. We now have two marriage licenses and at this point are unsure if we should only include one with the applicaiton (and if so, which one) or both - as far as I can tell it's not illegal to marry the same person twice without a divorce, although quite obviously unnecessary. Here's hoping!

Use the first one since technically the second one is not valid. You had a ceremony in Las Vegas but you didn't get married in Las Vegas. Why complicate your life?

There are proper church ceremonies in Las Vegas?

I've been to better places. At least, if I wasn't forced to come back here for some time because some ancestor of mine got the bright idea to settle here, I wouldn't have period. The one thing I did not miss in Germany was Indiana. :P
