London Embassy; Medical After Interview?

Thankfully I received my packet 4 in the post yesterday notifying me of my interview date (yay!). My interview is on the 17th of March in London but... I booked my medical ahead of time for the 20th of March, not expecting them to book my interview before this date.

My question is; should I move the medical examination to a date before my interview? or will they just wait to get the results before issuing my visa?

When I sent off the checklist I notified them that my medical was on this date but I don't want to take any unnecessary risks. Any Suggestions?

I have my medical on the afternoon of my interview.

My understanding is that they make their decision, but pending the results of the medical. So you just have to wait for the results of the medical to get to them and then everything sent out to you.

Not that I'm at that stage yet, but thought I'd offer advice!

As pothergavel says you can have the medical after the interview but your visa won't be processed until they get your medical results, or you could try to schedule it for next week if possible. But this might just add some stress. As you booked the medical before they gave you the interview date it's not your fault at all.

Maybe I should have added, that I originally had the medical booked for the 20th, but when the date came through for the interview (the 16th), I called and rescheduled the medical for that afternoon so that I don't have to travel to London twice in a week. Although the blood pressure might be a bit high!

Thanks for the suggestions. I took your advice and changed the medical date to the afternoon after the interview. My interview is at 9am and the medical will be at 3pm, will I have enough time to get to the medical? (im hoping to make sure that in the worst case scenario I still have time).

Also, once the embassy receive my medical documents will they send my xrays with my passport and visa?

I would be grateful if you could let me know how things go with you.

Many Thanks in Advance.

I hope so, as my interview and medical times are exactly the same as yours!

I'll let you know what they say each time on Monday evening :D

Am hoping that it's no big deal at the interview......fingers crossed.

Unless the delays at the embassy are horrific, I doubt you'll have a problem. My interview was 9am too and I was done by about 11 (and about 90% of those 2 hours was waiting and queueing ).

Which office is conducting your medical? If it's the Bentnic Mansions office, it's 5 mins walking distance from the embassy. Really, no worries there, you'll probably have several hours to kill on Oxford St

I would assume so. If SMS deliver it to your house for you, consider yourself lucky - it's a roughly A2-sized envelope and a real pain in the backside to carry around London

FWIW, mine is currently sat behind my computer desk (the only place I can fit the blummin' thing without bending it :P). I've never been asked to present it and certainly didn't have to turn it in it at the PoE.

Well I had my interview today! Everything went according to plan, the guy just said that he can't approve it until the medical documents arrive. Hopefully they will get there soon. thanks for all your help and advice, I really was worrying about nothing!
