Income requirement? I-864

Hi, all.

I've come to this close with your help. Thanks you all.

but I have a quick question regarding income in the form I-864.

My wife does not make enough money, so my father-in-law will fill out the form too.

So, does my wife need to list income in last three years?

He makes enough, so he can put only the latest income, but how about her?

my guess is, since we are going to use her dad's income, there is no need for her to put incomes from all three years.

its best to include everything that you can. Too much is better than too little. i filled out the I-864 for my husband, b/c i sponsered him (he was here on a K-1 from mexico), and i didnt make enough, but i had 19,500 in assets, so i included all my proof, i also had both my parents co-sponser him even though my stepdad makes well over the amount that he needs to for my husband. Include everything that will help. if theydont want the info, they wont use it, but its better to be safe than sorry. the reason why i included anything and everything was because i didnt wont to give them any reason to say no. Im sure you feel the same.

Yes, your wife (the sponsor) will need to fill out an I-864 with income as well as the co-sponsor.
