I'm so confused! I want to bring my wife here memorial day weekend (may 24), but am afraid the CR1 will take too long! EEK! I think I'm going to go with the k3....I hope this is right?

I received an e-mail from USCIS this morning saying my papers were sent to the NVC on March 6, 2009. HOpefully they will be there next week and then a quick trip to the consulate in Costa Rica.....

Jen My files were touched on the 6th as well....but I haven't rec'd any email stating that my file has been transferred.

I take it all of our files are in the same fedex envelope and will make it to NVC on monday....

If you call and get a Case number please email me....I will keep you posted as well

I think I only got an e-mail because I sent that FEDEX letter tothem the afternoon before. I Sent a letter similar to what your husband sent just requesting info.

They approved my case that same night that I sent the letter. I am sure they were just responding to the whinning..LOL

The NVC rep told me they don't FEDEX any of the cases. They are sent bulk mail from Vermont to New Hampshire. She told me 2-4 weeks.... OK Do I look like a moron??? Vermont and NH are very close to each other. I'm thinking Monday or Tuesday or at least sometime this week.

Think of it this way, waiting for the NVC is a lot better than waiting for VSC, especially since they respond pretty quickly.

Thats what I hear ... I can't imagine that they don't FEDEX or DHL the papers to the CR embassy. Snail mail isn't an option . Do they offer tracking numbers once you get your case #???

Lisa was talking about DHL a few days back.

I'm still calling everyday to see if there is a case #.

NVC uses DHL to send the case files to the respective embassies. Here is how you can try to track your case files to the embassy:

1. Go to: http://www.dhl.com/

2. Select track by Reference, enter the info as follows:

EXP DD MMM YYYYA

EXP is constant

DD is the day the NVC said they shipped the case.

MMM is the three letters representing the month the NVC shipped the case

YYYY is the year the NVC shipped the case

A is constant

For example, if the NVC says they shipped the case on February 5 2009, this would be entered as "EXP 05 FEB 2009A".

3. Date range for shipment - From: Enter the date of the day NVC said they sent the case

4. Date range for shipment - To: Enter todays date

5. Once you enter the info, press "Start Tracking"

6. You will see a result page with a number of packages going out to different consulates/embassies. Look for your consulate/Embassy.

If you don't see a package with that reference number for your respective consulate, then try the day after.

How's everyone?

We would schedule a K3 interview tonight EST (that would be tuesday morning Phil time).

Husbie and I sent both our packages on the same day.

AOS would be delivered to NVC today but my IV package would reach there by Tuesday since it was shipped from Manila.

Wishing that we could flip K3 to CR1.. I am just wondering if there is anybody who did it successfully here in VJ.

"Flipping" is a concept, if your CR-1 case arrives at the consulate before your K-3 interview, the conulate is required to issue the CR-1 visa as it is available. Some consulates need a friendly reminder that the CR-1 file has been received by the consulate Becareful how you phrase the questions to the consulate, as you may get a response that you don't like. In some cases, the K-3 interview was canceled, due to a CR-1 interview date being assigned a week or two out from the K-3 date. Members have had sucess with showing up on the day of the interview, and when checking in asked if the CR-1 file had arrived, and the interview was for the CR-1 instead of the K-3.
