hi crissy ben, congrats on your baby that is coming, try to get together before you baby is born...hopefully it works out. i dreaded having my baby without my hubby with me, but ya, reality happened, i was alll by my self :crying:

but the good part is, we did it...and it all went fine...i think that was brave, but some times its better being not so brave than brave...

I just send my DS230 thru Fedex today..

I called the NVC and i asked them about my name which is incorrect. It's been 2 weeks now and i alraedy emailed them my passport.. The operator said, they will wait for my DS230 and thats the time that they will correct my name!!!

Regarding our payment of $400, since we paid it before we received the IV Fee bill, the operator said that she will ask for supervisor to update the IV Bill status.

She also said that we can send both AOS and DS230 in one envelope BUT we are not goin to do that.. Its more better put them in a separate envelope....

Since its holiday here in the Philippines, my DS230 will be deliver to my husband next week of WEdnesday.. Another week to wait...

Hey Seren.

I would assume that NVC is working on Friday because I know for sure that other government agencies are open...

Good Friday isn't a national holiday, so I would be surprised if they were closed.

Here is our update for the day: I called the doctor's office this morning to request another letter for an expedite (they already furnished one for me for the CSC processing, but our petition was approved before I even had the chance to send it in...). As soon as I have that, I will e-mail it to the NVC (as per the instructions from the representative I spoke to yesterday).

I am not sure how long it takes them to process the expedite requests... but hopefully we should get an answer fairly quickly.

I have been hearing mixed things about whether or not they will approve it. Most people say that pregnancy is not a reason for expedite (unless it is high-risk), but then others say it gets approved if the person who is pregnant is the USC (as opposed to the intending immigrant). I have also heard that it is not considered an expedite for a fiance (k3) visa. However, it is considered to be a hardship on a marriage (so therefore a legitimate reason on a k1 or cr1/ir1 visa). So, I don't know. But, we figure it is worth a try.

My doctor was the one that offered to write the letter in the first place (I didn't even know that cases could be expedited when we started this process). She really believes that this whole situation (being apart from each other) is putting "unneccessary stress and anxiety" on my health. So, we will see.

Anyone else have news to report today??

my daughter has a brain tumor and they denied my expedite.. People are pregnant every day.... Pregnancy is preventable.... Brain tumors are not.

hi esposa...

sorry to hear about your daughter. i don't know why they would not have expedited your case in that instance.

although i agree with you that pregnancy is preventable, i do not think that it should be downplayed or belittled. sure, people are pregnant everyday, but that does not mean that it is anything less than an extraordinary situation. giving birth is a huge deal, especially for people like us who are expecting our first child.

that being said, we decided to apply for an expedite. if they give it to us, great... if not, it will not be the end of the world. but, you can't blame us for trying.

again, i am sorry to hear about your daughter's tumor and wish nothing but the best for you both.

I am here, thanks for the shoutout Seren and Candid! My 2 girlies :luv: I am swamped with work!! Been and still am extremely busy up until Thurs. so if u don't see me know I am around, just dying under a pile of work :dead:

Candid, I too hope u can get it flipped. It would be a shame to pay the extra 131 for K3 :bonk: We need some garga action up in here so Seren and I can get the CASE COMPLETE nod by the end of the week!! I am hoping to hear something on Thurs. just in time to get an interview date on Friday (right before the weekend) but not so sure...I would be pleasantly surprised if NVC can finish our review that fast. They only entered our papers in the system on 04/02 (last Thursday)... But looking at ur case Candid, yours took 10 exact days (including weekends). So on Thursday it will be 8 days for us, I just don't know...Hoping on karma stars for now :star::star::star::star:

HIYA GS :)

Our AOS review was completed in 3 business days...hoping for the same with DS 230 package (NO RFE's)

Hopefully Lucky Thursday will work it's magic again for us :P

Is NVC working on Good Friday (04/10/09) ??? Anyone know?

COME ON LUCKY THURS. WE ARE COUNTING ON YOU!!

I am pretty sure I read in another topic the NVC will be working on Good Friday.

GS - Welcome back!!! (J/K)

Seren - Have they fixed your payment issue yet? Hopefully it doesn't take forever.

Aruba - Are you on your way to the US? or are you already here and hiding?

Thanks, Q! :P Seren, the same happened to us a while ago and the supervisor was able to fix it. I put in the request for a supervisor to manually fix it on March 20th and it was fixed on March 30th.

So, no one is answering our question...

I didn't answer cz my case is not complete yet so I am not even sure if the list is correct. I just sent in some necessary docs. based on their website instructions, Qs I asked on VJ and NVC operators but I wouldn't mislead anyone and then find out we have an RFE... Good luck to us all and hopefully a speedy case complete. I was thinking Q, you were so lucky got a case complete in 3 days. Even candid got hers in 10 days! Tomorrow is our 10 day and we haven't even been told it's in final reviewwwww!! NVC has slowed down big time. So not fair when we have already waited 230 days at VSC!! I think I need to create a special GARGA, it seemed to have brought u luck CANDID!! ;)
