Que, Yes just waiting for case complete, Plan to call them to see if the AOS/DS230 packets are scanned into the system yet.

Seren, appointment post means NVC appoints the interview from here. Standard means they do it from there. I believe Standard also means u bring all originals to interview rather than send them to NVC. Someone correct me if I got it wrong...

04/14/2009 : Found out K3 was forwarded to the consulate in Leb and CR1 stuck in AP; 04/18/09: K3 delivered

When a consulate is appointment post, NVC schedules the interview date. If the consulate is standard post, the beneficiary needs to schedule the interview date.

Hey Seren.

Most Consulates are Appointment Posts, but some are Standard Processing Posts. Either way, you still have to gather all the same documents.

The only difference is with Standard Processing Posts, the supporting documents (police certificate, marriage certificate, birth certificates, etc.) are brought to the Consulate on the actual interview date (or sent directly to the Consulate for administrative processing) instead of being sent to the NVC first for review.

The NVC still handles the fees and payments, but doesn't really adjudicate anything. Also, the interview is arranged and scheduled by the Consulate, not the NVC.

I am not sure if Appointment is better than Standard Processing or vice versa... but I was just wondering so I can figure out what to tell my husband (i.e. if I should have him mail me his police certificates and everything else or just have him hang on to them).

Or, I could just wait to hear from the NVC.... hahahahaha... :rofl: (I am not that patient).

Sent I-130 to Chicago Lockbox: February 19, 2009

NOA1: February 26, 2009

NOA2: March 17, 2009 (19 days after NOA1)

Everyone else sounds like they are making some good progress too... so that is really good to see.

We still have no update... no NVC number... even though there are lots of people who got their NOA2 after us and already have their case number. :unsure:

His_Wifey, did you ever figure out if the Naples, Italy consulate is an Appointment Post or Standard Processing? I still can't really find any definitive information on it. If anyone else knows, please feel free to chime in!
