I don't want to do the K3, but I just printed out all the forms today...I am gonna give the darn thing a shot. Ofcos now I will have to take time off work, Get an Indian Visa to fly there, Book a flight ticket, Do medical and GO CRAZY!

GS wanted K3 and is doing CR1

I want IR1 and now have to consider K3

Insanity!!! I guess they forgot to test the system before putting it into use!!!

I just looked at the mumbai consulate website, and they have posted the interview schedule for April. There are 249 CR-1 interviews, and only 6 K-3 interviews. What a huge difference?!?!

INSANITY sums it up in one word!! Insanity also sums up how they don't have clearcut instructions for Ds 230 and then end up handing out RFEs for it left and right and delay you an extra month!!

Q, isn't the case number from NVC (more specifically the last 3 digits) an indication for how many cases the consulate is processing ahead of us? So that would mean ur last 3 digits are 249? or is that not the case necessarily? Ours is less than 10, I can't believe how busy India is!! WOWWWWWWW!

Seren, that is the definition of insanity how ur K3 got shipped out right away and u didn't want it and ours got stuck in AP thus forcing us to follow the CR1 route. We shoud have wished the opposite of what we wanted like we did w/ our thread of NO APPROVALS NO TOUCHES the week we all got APPROVED!! Go figure!

Go to Costa rica's consulate website, you can just google it. Look to see if they post the interview schedule on their website. Mumbai has a list of the interviews by case number. visa category, date and time.

I got my case number from NVC today. Based on the interview schedule posted on the Chennai consulate website it seems that we could be waiting a couple of months for the interview. Going by the case numbers and the approximate number of case numbers they interview each month it doesn't look like we will get a date in April and probably not even in May. ####### ?! I will wait and see what date we actually get (hopefully next week).

I know how you feel Jenn (the same way I felt when some of the people who filed in Jan 09 got approved before me). The whole process seems to be a crapshoot and all we can do is wait ... and pray ...

I am still not sure how to decipher the case number. The last 3 digits are 013 but I haven't been scheduled for an interview yet (as far as I know the case hasn't even made it to Chennai yet).

The previous three digits in my case number are 57x and I see that Chennai has scheduled interviews for

52x, 53x and some 54x in March

54x, 55x and some 56x in April

If I had to guess our interview will be in May (which is a bummer cause I was hoping for April).

You should have heard my conversation with my accountant, it went round and round and round for almost 1.5 hours before we "agreed".

I forgot who's question I was responding to, but someone didn't someone ask me what the case numbers meant.

That's correct, it really depends on how many of those XXXYYY cases get done with NVC. There are people who got to approved way before me, who just completed NVC and will be interviewing after me. So it really depends on when the case completion happens.
