Our lawyer said it is easiest for us to get a quicky court marriage in MD once I get to PA, so we can file for AP... but both my fiance and I feel like it kinda takes the romance out of it.

My question is, if we get a license in PA or MD, i'm sure he can help us. I assume in the US, you must get a license from the state that you wed in, right?

As soon as I arrive, we are considering taking a week off and going down to Miami, as we both have always wanted a beach wedding, and coming back and filing for AP. Anyone with experience in Florida? How long does it take? Do I contact the City? Do we have to apply in person? and how long is the certificate good for?

Any advise would be appreciated, I am only familiar with Canadian laws and our government offices.
