Hi everyone,

A question on SSN. I've stayed as a student for several years in the US, so I already have an SSN. But I want to change my surname on SSN after marriage. When should I do this? Should I do this before I submit AOS or after? I fear that if the process of changing the name takes too long I won't be able to submit AOS on time. Any advice please. :help:

When you have EAD or Green-card that has married name. Save your self a trip to SSA and do it after getting a green-card.

You need something from the USCIS with your married name. Claudeth used her EAD and the green card would even be better. At least this is what the social security people told us when we first tried to change the name.
