Waiting is the not so fun part...

I'm a patient person, but they've had the paperwork I worked very hard on for almost a full month and haven't even glanced at it yet.

I realize this is normalish.. but still it's no fun!

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

waiting does suck :(

It will be a while, and the time lines on their system, are not accurate. I sent my stuff in originally in August of 2008, and my NOA2 was finally approved in Jan/09. Recently it's been about 6 months. But when I was approved, their system was showing that they were still working on April/08 app's and we were Aug/08....

Hang in there. Our lawyer said it would be about 8 months in all, but it would appear that it will likely be about 10 months for us in total through Montreal.

Some people have been lucky and it has been sooner.

It does seem like a long time but once you are together it won't seem all that long

Just the other day I told my husband that I'm longing for the day where he's around so much that he's driving me nuts and I want him to go work in the garage.

I am with you on that one! This waiting is pure torture! I heard the song "So Small" by Carrie Underwood today as I was listening to her CD and it is now my theme song for this process...it seems so huge to conquer, now I have to take it a day at a time because you can't take it back after its all over. And like someone else said it will hopefully become a repressed memory...

awe.. hang in there.. it really does all fall away when the process is over. And AOS (albeit stressful) is tolerable cause you are together.. Hang in there!!

It might also help to think of it not in terms of waiting.. but a time of preparation... you'll never have these moments again.. so find things/people experiences to enjoy!

yessir! Some very good information here. Believe me, when you are gone and it's over, you will be wishing you had talked to or spent more time with certain people.

Also when you get here, you might be wondering when you get time to yourself! I often wonder if I would like to go back to long distance for a bit again! haha

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Hah.

Everyone keeps saying that, but I dunno if I'm buying it right now. ;)

We've had the luxury of being able to spend 3-4 weeks together a couple times now, and I don't think either of us has even gotten close to the point of "leave me alone I need my space".

Not saying it won't ever happen, it's just really hard to envision it happening right now.

Maybe if they'd touch my application it would help me feel better, even though it doesn't mean anything. ;)
