Our K1 petition was approved on the 12th of January and the embassy here in Ireland received it on the 21st of January , it's been 6 week's and still we have no packet 3. I called the embassy and was told it would be sent out ,same as I was told last week, but still no show. Has anyone else had this happen where it takes this long to receive packet 3?

Mine actually came out pretty fast, it was around the same dates as you.

Why don't you get started on what is needed on that checklist in the meantime? Or have you collected everything already? (police reports, certificates etc...)

Some Embassies arent physically sending a pack 3 anymore and rather just directions to what you require ... Mine was one of them, I got a letter with links to various info about medical, police check and what forms I need to download .... We got all the forms from the Downloads link found at the top of this page ... also download the Example forms, they come in very handy when your not sure how to fill something out ...

And they're sooooo disorganised. I had to call 3 times to get mine and they kept saying it had been sent, but when it finally arrived it was postmarked after my 3 call.

Ahhh Ok ... There is no need to wait thou .. some people start getting everything put together by the time they have their NOA2's ...

For OP not sure if your with Dublin, if so look here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=Dublin or find your consulate here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/ it will help with seeing what the embassy requirements are .. theyre all slightly different ... also gives a rundown of doctors etc ..

The woman I spoke to at the embassy said you didn't get it? Said she would send out another one. Then another week went by and today she said the same thing to me word for word ,they definately have my correct address as she called it out to me . The Sergeant at my local Garda station told me I was to wait till I received packet 3 before I could go down to him to apply for the Irish police cert even though I knew I didn't have to he was just being stroppy, then I found out that it's all been changed and now you have to apply to the local Superintendent in your local district headquarters for a small fee of 6 euro , Ill be doing that tomorrow but I have everything else ready. I've looked at lot's of VJ timelines and the usual time to wait for packet 3 seem's be in around 2 or 3 week's top's.

Just saw your post I feel better already , I think you got the same woman I did ! I'll definately keep calling just feeling very frustrated lately with the whole process , I thought there would be problems on the US side of the petition, the NVC staff were great and it sailed through but Dublin can't even get it the last 80 miles .

We didn't have any delays with Packet 3 but that Gard (guard?) you talked to was full of #######, my fiance went to the Super and got it without the packet 3, but he did take his full application with him, including a copy of our NOA2. It took about 3 weeks to arrive.

Dublin called my fiance today and set his interview for May 19. Packet 4 should be arriving to him soon. I wouldn't plan on getting your interview anytime before June at this rate. :(

Thank's for the info , actually I had been watching your timeline as our date's were not too far apart . When you got your NOA2 I knew we were'nt far behind you and again when you got packet 3 so quickly I was delighted and thought sure we would be receiving our's fairly quick too , but not to be. Hopefully thing's will change as our NOA2 expire's on May 11th and not sure what would have to do in that case.

You could have downloaded it from the website before you filed the I-129f. Go to the website and get it.

I forgot to mention earlier that Dublin sent him the affadavit of support from 2007, the one that requires notarization. I downloaded and filled out both and got the 2007 one notarized and just filled out the 2010 one. Can never be too thorough!

Hey, So I just thought you might be interested to know that my fiance's interview is actually MARCH 19, not May. So maybe it's not so bad??? I have no idea how he got it so fast but if you haven't gotten your packet yet keep calling!

Packet 3 arrived yesterday to much relief , thank's to everyone for reply's. They also sent the 2007 form for affidavit of support so Fiance is going to get it notarized just in case and I'll bring 2010 one to be safe. That's great the interview is march 19th :) Good luck to you both maybe I'll be lucky and get mine soon too.

I was really surprised when you said a May interview! Glad it's much sooner. They're pretty quick, once you get your packet 3. I don't know if they've changed the instructions, but when I went, they didn't list a DS 156K, but brought it because it's mentioned on Visa Journey, and they did ask for it at the embassy.
