I find it difficult to deny the possibility of life existing elsewhere in the universe. With the estimates of the universe at 14 billion years there have already been civilizations that have come and gone. With all the galaxies and the stars in them I believe there is life everywhere. I am not sure I can believe in interstellar travel due to vast distances of our galaxy along to say nothing of the distance from one galaxy to another. It is all mind boggling.

Thank you, it was indeed a typo.

Reading Carl Segan's Contact was a big eye opener for me in terms of the size of the Universe.

Earth would be interesting some aliens based on our moon and sun being the same size as seen from Earth. What are the odds on a perfect eclipse in the elsewhere in the galaxy?

We do study less sophisticated civilizations here on Earth so an advanced species would find something of interest even if they'd been to hundreds of inhabited worlds. They might find our art, music, entertainment, our stories unique since they don't rely on advanced technology.

My guess is a CAT III planet would be huge rocky planet with far more resources to sustain them long enough to develop into a space faring race.
