Hello all,

I'm new to this forum :-)

I (a Canadian) got married in February 2008 to my husband who is an American Citizen. We had our religious wedding ceremony in June 2008. After this we spent some time apart trying to decide which one of us would do the move as we both had really great jobs. In the end, we decided that I would make the move. I resigned from my company, however when doing so my company asked if I could work remotely from the US for them for sometime. I said sure! They arranged to get me an L1 and I have been in the States working remotely since December 2008.

My husband and I submitted the I-130 & I-485 together to the Chicago Lockbox in Feb 2009. My L1 will expire in the end of April so I filed for a I-131 for travel as well. I have received an I-797C Notice of Action for everything I submitted as well as a notice for a biometrics appointment next week. However, at the time I submitted my package I did not know that I needed to submit an EAD (I-765) or the medical form (I-693). I received a notice in the mail stating that I need to send in all my missing evidence for the I-485. It says that I have to submit all information within 87 days to the US Dept of Homeland Security located in Lee's Summit, MO. It also mentions that I can send my I-765 within 90 days, however it does not explicitly say that I have to submit the I-795 to Lee's Summit, MO. When I read the instructions on the I-795 form itself, it says that I should be sending it to the Chicago lockbox. But does that only apply if I didn't receive the missing evidence notice?

Does anyone know where I should be submitting my I-765?

Thanks.

The I-765 is sent in the same envelope as I-485, and I-130.

If sending later, you attach a copy of I-485 NOA1 to the I-765 and mail to the same address you sent the I-485 package.

The I-765 is coded (C )(9 ) based on pending I-485, this costs nothing.

Per I-131 instructions, if you have an L-1 visa you do not need AP to travel home, the L-1 visa will allow re-entry, without loosing pending I-485 status. You will need one if L-1 expires.

Moving to travel/work prior to green-card forum.
