I asked because one of my childhood buddies who killed himself supposedly went crazy because of one (according to his father).I thought it was because the whole family were on drugs but the dad swears up and down it was because of the ouija board.

That is sad, suicide is always tough on everyone. Always looking for the 'if only we had' scenarios :(

The thing that really bothers me is that the dad was a big time NRA buff and had all types of guns in the house.Maybe if there weren't all those guns around,my buddy would be with us today :crying:

It is sad what happened to your friend, but I don't think its valid to blame it on gun collection. If someone wants to take their life, they don't need a gun, can do it by any other means.

I wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot Indian.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

He might, or he might have chosen another way out. It's really hard to know but people who feel that suicide is the only recourse are extremely single minded on that course of action. The best you can hope for after the fact is that his death was swift and painless which a gun will almost certainly guarantee. Hanging suicides must be some of the worst. I am really sorry because there is nothing good that can be said really. You have lost a friend and no one can bring him back (F)

I don't think it really matters if they are real or fake. If someone believes in them, they can have a huge impact.

I know a few girls from college who really freaked themselves out with a Ouiji board...they needed some serious counseling after some scary characters "from the other side" continued to visit them...

See,the real Elvis would have demanded that fried peanut butter and banana sandwich his mama used to make him.

Whe we were building up for Destert Storm my Brother and I were both on the Inactive Duty roles. One night we were at a friends house drinking and broke out the Ouija Board. We asked "it" if we would die in the Persian Gulf. "No" was the reply. The next morning the phone rang. It was my Father informing my Brother that he had been recalled. He never went there so the board was right. Obviously a coincidence, but it creeped us out anyway.

Ghosts are real though,IMHO, as I have seen one.

Good point. Maybe it was me who demanded the Cap'n Crunch. Memory can be fuzzy...
