Then again, for example, when the stats are presented, like 50% of those imprisoned are now of Latino origin. You discredit them. You refuse to accept that one particular demographic is committing more crimes than all of the others. You get stuck on the, "well that doesn't mean all Latinos are criminals". Which is correct but it also does not change the fact that 50% of people incarcerated (aka committing crimes) are of Latino origin.

The OP article makes a general point about the ethno-demographic breakdown of K-12 students.

Apparently this is sufficient information to trot out all the usual generalisations about hispanics and illegal immigration.

No I don't object to it Boo. I accept the idea that certain ethnic communities have higher crime rates, higher drop out rates from schools, higher rates of teen pregnancy / single parent family, alcoholism, suicide etc. I totally get that.

What I utterly disagree with is the idea you have presented - that these things justify treating the entirety of those communities like #######; and punishing everyone for the actions of a relative few.

we are a Hispanic Muslim family and we live in a very small town, i can tell u with out a doubt that it is our property taxes and what not that contribute to the school system that supplies reduced and free lunches for children of low income families (no Hispanic needing this service, at least here) . in total there are about three Hispanic families in our area, not a one of us has any reason to collect free or reduced lunches but there are a total of about one hundred families in need of this program as well as the gleaners program that we have for food to the poor, on any given day of the week that we supply this program to the elderly and the young u will see hundreds of people from the area standing in line to collect free food..........what color are they WHITE

i have yet to see one Hispanic family collecting from the food bank in our small town.

during the summer months when there is a large population of Hispanics that have come to work in the fields u also do not see them standing in line for free food.

here is another thought any Hispanic family that pays rent and does not own the home their rent fee includes the amount that the owner pays in taxes so u can say that the person renting also helps pay for the school system and free food......

oh yeah and when i marry i will be contributing more hispanic/india children to our area but that does not mean that just because we are Hispanic we have our hand out for anything most have to much pride even if they are poor

Well reading between the lines it is clear what you're saying - that law-abiding people aren't equal if there's a % of their number that are responsible for social problems.

You suggested elsewhere that hispanics across the board should be denied the 2nd amendment; and shouldn't be upset if they get pulled over the cops for nothing.

Denying an entire group of people constitutional values and treating them on a level with the worst of their number would seem to be treating them like 2nd class citizens.

How do you come to that logic? A child of an illegal can't sponsor their parent until they are 21. 21 years doesn't seem all that quick to me. Honestly, the quickest way to get an illegal a visa is for them to marry a US citizen. They don't have to have any kids at all. See, it really would help for you to know what you're talking about before you spout off at the mouth. You aren't helping yourself out any.

This won't occur to our mutual friend, but in fairness - the base numbers aren't the complete picture.

What's missing is statistical probability - and what % of each particular population each of those figures represents. While the figures presented for minority groups are lower than they are for whites - the percentage of the overall population for those groups that these numbers represent is a lot higher.

The same argument has been presented before with regards to poverty - that because there are quantitatively more whites than blacks experiencing poverty that it must follow that poverty is more of a problem for the white community than it is for the black. Of course that argument is spurious if we accept the idea that the probability of experiencing poverty is (for sake of argument) 1/10 for blacks compared to 1/100 for whites.
