Hi guys,

Now that my case is more than 30 days past the posted processing dates for AOS on the USCIS website, I called them and they placed an inquiry (or whatever they call it) into my case. THey told me I should hear "something" within thirty days (not sure if by something they mean interview notice or "sorry, we ate your file").

Has anyone been in a similar situation - did this "inquiry" help? Did you actually hear anything from them?

The reason I ask is because I am trying to decide if I should just waiti it out until the 14th to hear something or if I should contact my representatives and get them working for me ASAP.

Advice, if you have any would be appreciated :)

Thank you!!!!

Sorry I don't have any advice for you. The "we ate your file" just really made me laugh. The scary thing is that I can really imagine them saying that seriously.

I made a call to have my case looked at as at the time it was over 3 months past our date for processing. I got a letter stating that once an interview in our case was scheduled I would be notified. 60 days later we scheduled an INFOPASS appointment. Around 30 days after that and we are still waiting so don't be expecting to get an interview date just because your case is past dates and you called. Maybe you could try an INFOPASS appointment as well it hasn't done anything for me yet but maybe it would help you.

Yeah, I am not going to wait out the thirty day - sending a letter to my congressman tomorrow :)

I'm not expecting to jump to the head of the line - I just want to have an idea of what's going on!!!

Thanks for shaing your experience though - that's pretty much what I figured!!!
