I have got my interview date for 04/28 in Naples Italy for CR1, I really want to request an earlier date, before 04/15 so i dont have to provide 2008 tax returns. Does anyone know how to go about doing this?? I already called the NVC and they said they cant do anything once they have scheduled the interview???

Thanks for alll the responses....

I think u can ask for later dates than that, but no one could change it in earlier one....

Lets see if anyone has anything to say about it...

I think your out of luck. Earlier dates are filled first. Try calling your embassy in Naples Italy to change it to an earlier one. It can't hurt.

I wouldn't worry too much about the tax stuff. Just have a good explanation ready as to why you cannot provide the 2008 tax return info. If you are filing for extension, show them the extension receipt. If the proof of income is sufficient enough, they will not fester over the tax info. In my case, they didn't look at 'any' supporting evidence or proof of relationship.

The lady at NVC said I will need to give my husband a letter stating why i have no income/taxs for 2008. I have 2007,2006 and 2005 retuens plus a letter from my new employer. i hope that will be enough....

Thanks for all the replies

file for an extension and show them the receipt...that is your best option to evade tax related questions.
