Hello guys. I just got married on the 27th of February :)

The problem is, I had submitted my k-1 I129-F petition back in November. While on vacation, me and my wife (here in the philippines) decided to we couldn't wait and just decided to go get married. However, back home, the day of the wedding, my NOA2 came in the mail hehehe. So, basically, does anyone here know what my options are now? Can I convert my K-1 into a K-3 or something at this point?

Any information, or ideas would be welcome at this point.. someone suggested not submitting the marriage contract or something, and making the wedding we had just a "blessing" or something and we would not appear in the NSO.

Does the fact she is married to me and we would still have a wedding in the USA make any difference? Since the petition was granted while we were still unmarried, we can proceed maybe?

Thanks for any advice..

Yes it does make a difference. You no longer qualify for the K-1 as you are now married. DO NOT attempt to lie during this process and give him a "oh it was just a 'blessing'" #######. If you are legally married, then you are legally married.

I am not sure what you need to do next, someone will let you know (but I think it involves cancelling your K-1 and refiling an I-130)

Congratulations on your marriage!

the alien MUST enter the USA as a fiance(e) NOT as a spouse.... status just at time of filing is not the ultimate determinate factor

YMMV

My newbie understanding would be you have to cancel the K-1 and refile from the beginning with the K-3 (since that is the one that applys now). I'm sure the government will thank you for your K-1 check and will gladly take your K-3 check off you hands.

The K-1 assumes you are not married and intend to marry once the fiance(e) arrives in the new country. Since you have married prior to that, the K-1 process is not valid anymore.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Hhehehe. This is what my wise west Texas mother called "Too smart by half" Later, with a more advanced education, I came to call it "hoist on one's own petard" It means the same. Mel Blanc made a career of illustrating this in his famous work..."Roadrunner and Coyote"

You couldn't wait...but now you must. You will find universal agreement that the I-130 and K-3 which you must apply for now takes much longer to receive than the I-129f, plus you lose what you paid for the I-129f

Oh, congratulations.

Congratulations, you have been reading the guides. That makes you...the Roadrunner.

Good luck
