We are applying for Social Security and my husband is under K-1 visa. What should we pick for the CITIZENSHIP? There are choices of LEGAL ALIEN ALLOWED TO WORK, LEGAL ALIEN NOT ALLOWED TO WORK OR OTHER?

Correct me if I am wrong..if your husband came here on a K1 visa then chances is he will get the legal alien not allowed to work since .. he is only allowed to work if he has his green card or his EAD or the employment authorization card.

If you already filed for his adjustment of status with the EAD application, then he gets the legal alien with authorization to work with EAD card on his hand.

"Legal alien allowed to work" Only within the 90 days of I-94, after that EAD or green-card will be needed to get SSN.

Moving this to Work/Travel prior to green-card.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
