No Criminal Record Problem during AOS

Hi All,

My fingerprint got rejected twice too. We got another letter from USCIS in the end of Feb that saying I need to get Non-criminal record from countries that I lived in past five years.

This really messing us up right now since the due date is coming up on end of this month. Yes, we only have a month to prepare.

I called both of the police offices (in Japan and HK) where I lived in this past five years but there is no way I can submit both of the Non-criminal records to the USCIS by end of March, since I HAVE to go back to the countries to apply for it. In addition to this taking more than 4wks, the HK police will send the fingerprints directly to USCIS, but the USCIS asks that we submit everything all at once. This won't work with Japan and HK. Augh!!!

Has anyone ever have the same problem like us before?

It helps a lot if you can share your story.

Is there any way you can apply with the embassies of Japan and HK in US?

Germany allows that, no need to be in the country to apply for the police records.

Yeah, you can obtain the record from a local Japanese embassy or consulate in the US.

Did you check with the consulate in Boston? They can provide you a police record.

Our situation is a little more complicated, as I lived in two countries (Japan & HK), and each of these Embassies have different policies. Hopefully the USCIS will accept our letter for an extension and flexibility to submit the evidence separately...we'll see.
