Hi All

My conditional green card will expire soon. So, I need to file I-751 to remove my conditional status to become unconditional permanent resident. I knew it takes long before I'll get approved for I-751 base on the timeline's I read here in visajourney. also, my driver license will expire too the same date with my conditional green card and I can't renew my license while my 1-751 is in process. My question is, Do I need to renew my EAD in advance? So, i can renew my driver license since it takes only 3 months for EAD to get aproved. Please help me to answer my questions and educate me what i need to do.

Thank you so much for your help.

You can't get an EAD because you are already a permanent resident. When you file the I-751, you will get an NOA that will extend the expiration of your current permanent resident card. You can get a new drivers license with your expired card and the extension letter. If your state won't recognize the extension for the drivers license, you can make an INFOPASS appointment to get the I-551 stamp in your passport. The stamp will be good for 1 year.

why is this in 'south asia' forum?

To give the organizers something to do. You have to give them something valid to move from time to time or they get jumpy and start moving things needlessly
