I have no heard that if you have non-active TB they will deny the fiancee visa..

or require strange other things to be done for approval???

anyone know about this?

If found positive for TP you will have to do a treatment program which takes about 6 months. After that you have your embassy interview and if you pass it YOU FLY!!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Sounds like an urban legend to me.

Even if it's not, since you'll be going through the Russian medical office, pay the "fine" for that and have them clear it up for you.

It's the reason they take a chest X-ray. If there are abnormalities that suggest current or past TB infection then further testing is required to determine if there is active TB or just scaring from past exposure. If a person has active TB, then I am sure the visa will be withheld until treatment is complete.

Neon,

you are correct about active.

I am only talking about non-active... there is even a fiancee waiver form for active. But non-active now covers 6 possible categories one of which is there are no signs of TB but the x-ray might possible show something of some kind.. Literally .. look at the I-631

from my readings only active results in delay. non-active seems to mean you need to be tested in the US. But i cant seem to get anything concrete.

so got some additional info on this for future reference.

if the applicant is marked as B2 inactive they will have their name, address, and phone taken at POE.

then the local medical office sponsored by the CDC will contact them for a follow up medical to test for TB

B2 inactive does not mean they have TB. It only means that there is a possibility they could have it. As of last year the US invalidated TB tests from other countries in this respect hence the follow test in the states. the follow up test will determine a true negative or a true inactive. Then medicate may or may not be prescribed.

save for reference

I am gonna bump this for piece of mind.

has ANYONE ever heard of someone having to get a special waiver for inactive TB?

the medical ppl did affirm that she was fine and required no special or additional tests... they actual said she didnt have TB either which is odd.

I called some lawyers and they don't know anything either. Can anyone offer legitimate piece of mind? I know she does NOT need to get any treatment because they specifically told her she did not need any. I just want to know if someone had a similar experience with Moscow
