Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On February 9, 2009, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

I received this online update on my petiton a while ago. I haven't had any touches and I'm getting worried. Do people who get RFE usually wait 60 days as it says in the message or people get approved early. I'm so worried because its been past six months since i filed the petition. Can people who got RFE share their experiences please. I wish everyone still waiting the best!

The standard line is 60 days, but its usually less than that I've seen any where from 2-4 wks at most. It may also depend on the particulars of the rfe, each ones responses are unique. goodluck

Thank you all for the reply. I was just worried because I really don't want to wait 60 more days. I just pray that they approve early than the 60 days thing.

The VSC resumed processing of our petition on the 10th February and we are still waiting. But take heart, somebody whose processing resumed on the same day as yours had been approved on Monday. So maybe we are close to getting our "golden egg" too. :)

I got the RFE by email on the 13th, it was recieved by my SO on the 20th and he mailed it back on the 21st, they didnt resume processing until the 27th and I was touched the 1, 3, and 4th. My RFE was for a copy of his birth certificate. What was your RFE for? And ive noticed that people typically get touched 3 times after processing is resumed and not again until the NOA2 is issued. Im also thinking that it depends on how and individual employee does their RFE's maybe they wait until there is a stack of them to work on, or they come back to them after a certain amount of time, I read the QA session with a former employee and looks like there is no set procedure for when to work on a RFE.... Waiting longer after processing has resumed almost seems like we are being penalized for not including something or checking a box in error...

My RFE was for letters and emails we've exchanged since i came back from Ghana. Also they wanted boarding pass and pictures dated. I seriously think they want to punish us for not having everything for the first time or maybe it depends on who is working on the case. Whatever maybe the case we hope for the best. GOOD LUCK TO US ALL! I HOPE WE GET IT B4 ENDING OF NEXT WEEK. Enjoy ur weeked.
