Rescheduling Interview to a closer date after medical clearance

My interview is originally scheduled on March 27. I am heading towards our second day of medical March 5. Daughter had a tuberculin skin test (which is making me nervous) and I am to come back for vaccine shots. This thing will be at 1pm and hopefully we'll get it all done before 5pm. I will be going back to Cebu on March 11. God-willing, if the medical is cleared before 5pm, I am going to call the USEM to reschedule the interview, either on March6, 9 or 10.

Is this advisable? What is the turnaround time for SLEC to forward the cleared medical tests to USEM? I don't want to have to waste away money on another round of plane tickets come March 27, if it's possible to have the interview rescheduled for Monday or Tuesday next week anyway.

Need your advise. Anyone? Thanks!

When you set up your interview they do ask that you complete the medical 1 week prior to the interview.

i dont think they reschedule to an earlier date as you were advise coz there are people in-line before your set appointment date as well.

i know its too late to say this but it would have been better if you guys had your medical a week before or a week and 2days before your appointment day.

i too am from cebu and base on my personal experience, i flew to manila a week and 2days before i was set to be interviewed by the USEM. when i got off the plane, i rested over-night, went for medical the next day, vaccines the next and for the rest of the waiting days, i relaxed and conditioned myself for the big day. i didnt fly back and forth manila-cebu so as to save money and effort..

but i guess theres no harm asking the USEM about it. call them and ask but i doubt they will give you an earlier schedule. why dont you guys just stay there if you have relatives to stay with (as i did that, so again, my entire manila trip for the interview didnt cost us much).

whatever your option is, make sure it will make you guys comfortable in all aspect..financially and physically, thats what matters :-)

well, i hope i helped, god bless you in your journey :-)

I don't have the luxury of time to stay in Manila for as long as I want as I am employed full time and daughter has been missing classes. I have to try my luck when I am done and hopefully, they will have a slot all of a sudden. Thank you for your responses.

We think it is worth a try to call the USEM and talk to Grace or Lorraine. Maybe you could explain your circumstances, and ask if they would be kind enough to make an exception for you.

The reason I think this would work for you is because Grace was a big help to us all three times we talked to her. She even offered us an interview appointment that was about one week from the time we first called to scheduled an interview. At that time, my fiancée had not even had her medical yet!

You have good reasons why they should help you:

> You are already in Manila.

> You will have already completed the medical.

> It would save you the money for another round-trip plane flight.

> You work full time, and it is not easy to get more time off.

> It would be less stressful on your child if you interviewed now.

We found Grace to be very understanding, and we hope that she can help you out.

Grace...if you are reading this...please help a sister out...all of us at VJ would appreciate it!

Good luck...

Sweet surprise to everyone! Our medical is done and I was able to reschedule for an interview on March 10, tuesday. Met Kaye there and she's awesome! Thank you for the ride and wonderful conversation girl. You helped me in so many ways with all the crazy talks we had. I know, this is not the end of the crazy days but your being around for the medical was a big help.

Miracles do happen and I just wanna share mine. God has been so good to me, I can't wait to build a family with my fiance and glorify Him everyday for the rest of our lives. Keep the faith everyone!

Go Girl! Good Attitude.

This kind of question was posted last year and i was one of those people who responded that rescheduling itnerview is hard. When it was my time to schedule my interview, i told my fiance the specific date i want. Even though there was a small window from the date of request and date of interview, he was able to get it.

And once you are inside the USEM, just ask around. If you think its taking a long time for your number to be called, just inquire. If you have this feeling that you should be next and not the other person, just verify with them.

You will be in the US soon!

The government should try to look into what kind of dilemma everyone is going thru at St. Lukes - it makes us Filipinos look so dumb, desperate and very much un-cultured. I feel so bad for the medical workers, being there since 6am and working til 10pm. It's a pathetic scenario. On top of that, people from all over the Philippines have to travel and spend so much just to get thru the medical which is already too much to pay for, for an ordinary Juan dela Cruz. I cannot help but feel disgusted with the Philippine Government. It's a poor country yes - and we have to downgrade ourselves to so much ridicule. NO wonder we are a people with very low self-esteem.

I don't need anyone to argue. Just my two cents here.
